Daylight Robbery
We don't cheer for crime. We express disgust with it and disgust with the measures being (or not being) taken that allow it to flourish. We also have nothing but contempt for the media that operates hand-in-glove with the "progressive" mindset that enables criminal behavior.
Forgive our reluctant feelings of schadenfreude at this story:
- A Chicago TV news videographer was robbed while preparing to cover a press conference Tuesday afternoon on the West Side.
The 45-year-old victim was in the 2800 block of West Monroe when two men walked up and asked him for money around 2 p.m., according to a Chicago police spokesperson.
When he told them he had no money, one of the men tried to take his phone. But the victim pushed the man off and put his phone inside his vehicle, police said. Then he ran from the scene after the man pushed him to the ground.
The second offender broke a window on the victim’s vehicle and took two phones from inside, the CPD spokesperson said. Both offenders ran from the area.
Until the reporters, camera operators, all of the media, experience on a daily basis what they are enabling on a daily basis, then we will just take cold comfort in the thought that they brought this upon themselves. They can comfort themselves by just repeating, "It's only property crime" and "maybe they needed that cell phone more than I did."

The TV stations are nowhere near as bad as the major newspapers in covering street crime. The TV stations at least acknowledge it exists. The Tribune just tries their best to ignore it, and the Sun-Times may cover it, but you have to click several levels down to find it. And forget about Block Club or the Reader -- they're actually pro-crime.

Just playing devil's advocate here but I don't think that the cameraman is necessarily the guy that deserves our wrath. It's just as likely that he is just some guy working for a living and not carrying the sick, progressive attitude about crime that exists further up the food chain at his station.

The ABC7 employee was supposed to:
(1) Peacefully hand over his phone to the robber so that no one is injured.
(2) File a claim with his insurance company to get some compensation for his loss.
(3) Advocate for social justice so that in case the robber is caught he is not unfairly punished.
The article says the ABC7 employee resisted the robbery. I'm surprised he still has a job.

I don’t personally know her but do know that she thinks she’s something else. Always needs to post FIRST when some officer is injured on the job or dies or something newsworthy job wise happens. Like she’s the only one with inside info and she needs to post on fb to have people think she’s important enough to get the info first.

Some of these assholes were actually arrested. offenders in stolen car, guns and proceeds recovered, offenders wearing same clothes on video. Couple of the victims just wanted their shit back and didn't cooperate. The other ones couldn't id.Felony review supervisor rejected all felony charges. Armed robbery is now a "silly" crime.

Years ago, Chicago & Hamlin area, if I recall correctly judge driving home has heart attack, crashes his car and is striped of most valuables before the ambulance arrives, including shoes.
