Being a Chicago democrat means never having to explain yourself to taxpayers:
Chicago, Illinois, Mayor Brandon Johnson’s (D) administration is refusing to disclose how many millions in taxpayer dollars have been spent on border crossers and illegal aliens.
According to CBS News, Chicago officials have denied a public records request for a full accounting of more than $120 million that was allocated to migrants arriving in the city. The report accuses officials of hiding which non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and companies have benefitted from the millions.
Guess how much they're spending a month?
At an April City Council hearing, Adl. Ariel Reboyras (30th) testified, "One of the estimates I'm seeing is we average about $7,000 a month for each migrant seeking asylum."
CBS 2 has been trying to get what should be public spending records from the city to see what companies and organizations are being paid and how much they are getting paid for various services. Is each new arrival really getting $7,000 worth of care every month?
No idea why SeeBS is pretending to care or pretending to be actual reporters. They've never tried to hold democrats, let alone Chicago democrats, responsible for any of their policy decisions since the time of Walter Jacobsen.

New York City is on track to spend as much as $12 billion on managing the local migrant crisis by mid-2025 — a staggering price tag that Mayor Adams warned Wednesday will necessitate more “across the board” cuts to city services.
The new City Hall cost estimate — which was first reported by the Daily News ahead of its Wednesday morning release — eclipses the $4.3 billion Adams’ administration previously projected it would spend by July 2024 on housing, feeding and providing services for the tens of thousands of migrants who have arrived since last year.
Under the administration’s revised projection, which was prompted by a recent uptick in migrant arrivals, the city is expected to spend as much as $6.1 billion by July 2024. Costs are then set to surge further, reaching the $12 billion mark by July 2025, according to the projection.
Those numbers work out to $9.8 million PER DAY. And the mayor there is talking about across the board service cuts.
How soon until that happens here?
And how soon until Chicagoans wake up? We see little eruptions such as the one at South Shore a month or so ago....but until you vote out the people giving away the store, they're going to keep doing it.

A friend was recently telling me about a landlord on his block who is renting to illegal aliens and the city is paying the rent for 6 months at a time.

And there’s no end in sight to this madness…they keep coming. Funny thing is I heard the limousine liberals from Evanston, North Shore and Oak Park bragging how proud the mayor and governor are handling this…all the while REFUSING to take in any of the illegals themselves in their burbs, parks or police stations. Just think that the Oak Park Police station is less than 1 mile away from the 15th District but their lobby or parking lot isn’t filled with illegals.

If they are caught in the US, their agreement says they will be immediately deported and fined.
Let them take their possessions, savings, and payment if they permanently leave on schedule.

Chicago public schools gets $17,000 from the state per low income student enrolled. Think about that. Now does anyone wonder why they are pro illegal immigrant?

" Chicago Public Schools will once again get less state education money than officials anticipated, according to new data released by the state on Tuesday.
Although Chicago will still see an increase in state education funding, a drop in the percentage of students considered low-income and a bump in property wealth in the city means the district is not getting the largest share of the new money.
In May, state lawmakers passed a $50.6 billion state budget that allocated $10.3 billion to education. That included a $350 million increase to be distributed to K-12 school districts through an evidence-based formula.
Chicago was expecting to get $27 million of that increase. But new calculations posted on the Illinois State Board of Education website show that the state is allocating $23.3 million of the increase to CPS.
The largest share of the state’s new K-12 funding – $35 million – will go to Elgin U-46, Illinois’ second largest district. Plainfield School District 202, the state’s fifth largest district, will receive $13.1 million of the increase.
In all, Chicago will get $1.77 billion in K-12 funding, up from $1.75 billion last year. The amount doesn’t include millions it gets for things such as pre-K and transportation. The new state data indicates CPS is now getting more than $17,000 per student from the state and is considered 80% of the way to “adequately funded.”

If you dig into that article it looks like New York City is paying out about $385.00 a day to support a family (4 people per family?), which works out to about $140G a year per family. For a citizen or registered alien to have that amount of annual income in New York they would have to earn somewhere in the range of $190G a year to pay local, state and federal taxes to get near $140G. So how much does the average Chicago family earn? So how much are the enterprises that support these illegals earn?
This is all well, and idealistic, until they raise our property taxes again...Then it becomes socialism...

What is really funny those cuts will not affect the working class. Other than the massive tax hike coming soon to pay the illegals way to happiness. The unplowed permanent welfare class will bear the brunt of cuts. School Union to strong to allow cuts, city workers Union also to strong to feel the coming pinch. That leaves COD, CFD and welfare recipients to bear the burden of any cuts.

Daley sold the parking meters to a Spanish Investment group for 1.1 dollars in 2008.A large portion was subsequently sold to the Arab Emirates, who have gotten their initial investment and a large profit back. Why doesn’t Brandon and the city council, which have bonding power, propose buying the meters back by issuing bonds? The Chicago Skyway deal was even worse. Fran Spielman wrote about last fall.

Just before last weekend, all of the migrants from the 001st District disappeared with their belongings and everything was cleaned up. One would be led to believe the City found a place to house them. As of yesterday, they were back. The City moved them temporarily because of Lollapalooza so attendees wouldn’t see the spectacle of a police District turned into a third world slum.
Where were they housed for that time and how did they return to that location in approximately one week’s time? Did the City put them up in hotels and promise something if they stayed away from the 001st District for a week?

The owners of the parking meters have a mega-cash-monster-cow for another 60 years. They bought it at a bargain-basement price and it has been beyond ultra-lucrative for them. Even if they were willing to sell, the City of Chicago would find the purchase price to be unaffordable, no matter how many bonds were floated. Thanks Ritchie.
