More Shooting Details
Drugs and a gun recovered yesterday:
- A weapon and suspected narcotics were recovered Saturday, after a shootout between a man and Chicago police in the city's South Shore neighborhood, police said.
But Channel 7 still has this crap included in the story;
"The police hopped out of their car, and proceeded on foot behind a young man in red, and I heard three gun shots," the witness said. "Everybody on the police force came, and they start pushing everybody out the way. They pushed everybody across the street, and told us to get out of their way."
The witness said several neighbors were frustrated following the shooting, wanting answers and accountability from police. She added her community is in need of help, in terms of people feeling safe around law enforcement and for their safety in general.
She claims the community "wants help" but obviously doesn't want the police doing it. She's completely fine with dope dealers running around with guns, but not the police stopping the dope dealers from running around with guns.
Also. during the response, an police SUV flipped over. Police injuries were said to be minor. Best wishes for a speedy recovery - we need the help out here.

They don’t want us there so don’t be there. These residents know all the shooters. They could turn them in and serve as witnesses. They choose not to. Let that choice guide your actions. Answer your calls. Follow the speed limit. Stop at stop signs. Wait for red lights.

Also, you cannot "build trust" or "build avenues of communication" when the citizenry is not only unwilling, but openly hostile and "snitches get stitches" is the community code of conduct.
