Something good coming out of the west side:
A ride-hailing driver shot and wounded two people who robbed him early Saturday as he dropped off a passenger in North Lawndale, police said.
At about 1 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue, the 26-year-old driver was approached by a man, 20, and an 18-year-old woman who walked up to him, announced a robbery and took his cellphone, according to the Chicago police.
The man fired shots as they fled, and the driver, who has a concealed carry license, shot him in a leg and grazed the woman in an arm but wasn’t injured himself, according to the police.
We really need to have someone start that GoFundMe page for ammo replacement along with a box of practice ammo for victims.

"The man fired shots as they fled." This is not good. I hope the States Attorney doesn't charge him, but you know how protective they are of those poor, misunderstood criminal scum. Working men and women should just accept they are only allowed to be victims, and fleeced by the criminals and the the government tax collectors.

Excellent situation and idea. Was just telling someone who thought areas where high gun ownership should be avoided. That person was gently reminded that those are the safest areas. I’d rather ride with an armed driver than an unarmed driver. Add the bulletproof glass and rest of the car, and I’m the happiest kid on the planet.
Probably should start a go fund me for all the victims to take training.

A little off topic, but I really don't understand why people even want to work for these ride services. Especially women. You have to use your own vehicle, and insurance, the wear and tear on said vehicle, have countless number of drunks, fools and creeps in your vehicle smelling it up, puking in it, or causing you stress with their actions. Use to be a taxi driver wasn't a very great job. A job that even the Reverend Jim "Iggy" Ignatowski could do. Good for the profits of these ride share services but I don't know why so many folks want to be a taxi driver these days. It's flexible but that's about all the good there is to it.

Yes to the above. Emperor BJ would say don't Demonize criminals. As he has 149 police protecting he and his family from such demons. A taxi driver (AKA Uber driver) can be a dangerous job, everyone doing that job should be armed. Glad he wasn't injured.
