All videos like that do is provide evidence for the States Attorney to convict the store owner and his family.
I would rather be free and never see a police officer than be social media famous.
There ought to be a code to clue in any responding officers to the opportunity present to expect an elegant situation requiring no law enforcement action, other than to, perhaps, summon the medics, or meat wagon.....

Years ago I hearda story about a shithead from the ABLA homes that burglarized a business on Taylor St. He was caught with the proceeds when some guys from the neighborhood showed up. The owner refused to press charges and told the cops to release him. Allegedly, he was begging to go to jail and not be released there on the street. I don't know if its true, but this video kinda reminded me of that.

And of course, all the immediate family responded to the alarm and that's how The Police got the call.
My partner and I were both looking forward to some well deserved furlough time so we observed the festivities from a block away as more family members arrived to partake in some holiday @$$-dankery. One family member stopped to give us a little background. "He always stealin' from family..."

I think old boy who got jacked up by the family was the same lame brain who accosted me at the light at Harrison & Sacramento on another Christmas morning trying to sell small presents he stole from under somebody's tree.

Answered a garage burglary years ago, guy stealing car stereos, now cornered in a garage, caught by the angry villagers themselves. Local citizen commented that the cops got there three minutes too early, standing there with a shovel. Mope was so happy to be handcuffed and stuffed in a car.
Soon enough, people will stop calling and handle it themselves.
We need more of this
