Scaring the Ivy Leaguers
Kids went back to college this week. The children of the "elite" arrived at their Ivy League residences, ready to make connections and learn how to be the future "elite." We don't say they arrived to learn, because they didn't - they arrived to be indoctrinated into the secrets of "elite-hood."
Then that nasty police union went and frightened them by exposing them to reality:
Yale’s police union helped introduce first-year students and their families to New Haven this weekend with death-decorated flyers warning them not to go out after dark, to stay on campus, and to avoid using public transportation — inspiring the mayor and a host of top city and Yale officials to denounce the apparent contract negotiation ploy as “shameful” and “unbelievably offensive.”
According to Yale Police Chief (and former New Haven top cop) Anthony Campbell, Yale’s police union — known as the Yale Police Benevolent Association — handed out flyers to new Yale students and their families this past move-in weekend that were entitled, “Welcome to Yale: A Survival Guide for First-Year Students of Yale University.”
These flyers are full of facts that frighten "elite" people:
“The incidence of crime and violence in New Haven is shockingly high,” the flyer reads, “and it is getting worse.” It states that murders have doubled so far this year, and burglaries and motor vehicle thefts are way up.
“Nevertheless, some Yalies do manage to survive New Haven and even retain their personal property,” the flyer continues. “The following guidelines have been prepared by the Yale Police Benevolent Association to help you enjoy your stay at Yale in comfort and safety. Good luck.”
Beneath that message is a drawing of a cloak-enshrouded skull, followed by five survival tips, including: 1) Stay off the streets after 8 p.m.; 2) Do not walk alone; 3) Avoid public transportation; 4) Remain on campus; and 5) Protect your property.

The snowflakes were outraged and pointed to the fact that the Yale PD is in the midst of contentious contract negotiations with the college and this tactic of exposing the snowflake children of "elites" to the realities of voting like a "progressive" was just plain mean!
The flyer was a knockoff of a 1975 NYPD scare tactic, but the reaction from the Yale college and police administrations is priceless.

In Minnesota, a new state law prevents school resource officers from even touching students, unless the police officer can prove that he was subduing student to prevent the student from committing murder or great bodily harm. Not only is it against the law, but the student can sue the officer, the police force and the school district for touching him/her.

New Haven is another Democrat cesspool. Your chances of of becoming a victim of a violent crime is 1 in 29. How dare the police union gives scary advice to the affluent students and parents. Then the rest of the Democrat hierarchy, police commands & politicians jump on the bandwagon against the union. These snobs should take the information and if they don’t believe it, so be it. Go into the neighborhoods get sauced make new friends. But don’t come back and say we didn’t warn you of the dangers. It’s like a person that goes in for a serious operation. Surgeon 1 says don’t worry everything will be fine and they don’t want to ask any questions. Surgeon 2 tells them of the all the complications involving the procedure and their response is you never should have told me that. These Yale people are like that, you never should told us of these bad things. Yale has a 42 billon endowment, they get 400 million of your tax dollars yearly, as well as other monies. Tuition is about sixty to seventy nine thousand a year. All that money in the bank just sitting there. Yale needs to spend some money to correct all the problems. They have enough money to transport the kiddies to classes in chauffeured limos.
God forbid you tell people to be careful, it might offend the criminals.
Bus the illegal immigrants to these college towns. Let's see how much the progressives and ruling elite back their slogans. (Hate has no home here...No one is an illegal alien).

The flyer is necessary, especially for freshmen coming in from places where crime isn't the problem that it is in New Haven. Although it's informative, the flyer lacks an important feature that would be included if the threat in the area is venomous snakes, i.e photographs of criminals. As long as the Yale Police are triggering the administration, they might as well go all the way.

Fact and Irony: The very first Naval ROTC Unit was established at Yale in 1916. The Rich Undergraduates (ALL White Male) paid for their OWN AIRCRAFT and practiced over Long Island Sound. This was when a College Education was intended to develop not only the mind, but also Leadership Skills and Patriotism.
When Naval ROTC was formally established in 1926, ONLY Six (6) Schools were selected by the Navy:

Yale College attempted to mollify the Community by re-naming Calhoun College (named in honor of James Calhoun, a 19th Century Southern Politician) as Hopper College ( after Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, USN— who spent her entire career behind a desk in Washington and never went to sea) in 2017. (Yale College has about a dozen Residential Colleges ( I.e., dormitories, in essence) for Undergraduates.)
The New Haven Community remains unappreciative of this gesture.
