Nearly 1,600 migrants seeking asylum in the U.S. will be relocated from Chicago police stations to winterized camps with massive tents under a plan by Mayor Brandon Johnson, according to a report released Thursday.
The relocations will occur “before the weather begins to shift and change,” Johnson said in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times.
The tents could hold up to 1,000 migrants, he said, and the camps would provide meals and recreational and educational programming.
Sixteen city shelters now house 13,500 migrants, with more arriving every day, at a cost to the city of about $30 million per month the newspaper reported.
Does anyone have any idea what it takes to house this many thousands of human beings? Have they consulted with the US Army, or even the Boy Scouts? You need massive tents and (winter is coming!) all sorts of portable gas heaters. Evil fossil fuels - because electric windmills ain't going to cut through a Chicago winter.
Now they need food. You need giant kitchens and then delivery of the meals. The Army had to subcontract all of this out to Halliburton and other companies during the Gulf Conflicts. Garbage pickup is going to be a logistical nightmare.
Sanitation? We're talking acres of port-a-shitters since BJ can't be digging slit trenches and burn pits for the human waste. And shower tents?
The footprint for an encampment is going to between two and three times the size of the sleeping quarters and it has to be patrol-able, with addresses for CPD and CFD responses.
Where is this supposed to be set up? BJ has no idea, which means there really isn't a plan, just a press release.

How about all those people who support this uncontrolled immigration be allowed (forced) to sponsor as many illegal aliens as they can afford. Let's face it, the federal government isn't so good at some things, and this is one of them. This would also personalize the responsibility, rather than let the nameless, faceless, and feckless "government" handle it. Sponsors would get a tax break for each immigrant they take in, and in return be responsible for room & board, as well as for insuring their charge. Sponsors would also be criminally and civilly liable for their adoptee, until they were employed and capable of living on their own.
If that's not good, how about an American Foreign Legion? We train 'em up, transport them to a war zone where people don't want "American Boys" to risk their lives, give 'em a rifle, and tell 'em, "there're the bad guys. Go get 'em!"
