Can I Call You Back?
This one has been brewing in assorted comment sections for a day or two after the body camera footage was released. Here's the CWB report on the incident from 02 September:
- Prosecutors have charged a 41-year-old woman with attempted murder of
a Chicago police officer who tried to talk to her while investigating
reports of a person with a gun on a South Side street.
Lynn Resendez, 41, is also charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Judge David Kelly ordered her detained as a public safety threat.
Both COPA, the city agency that investigates the use of force by CPD officers, and the police department’s press release announcing Resendez’s arrest stopped short of saying that she fired the gun at police during the September 2 incident, which was recorded by two cops’ body cameras and a city surveillance camera.
COPA said two officers tried to engage with an individual in the 9900 block of South Ewing while investigating reports of a person with a gun.
Suspect raised a gun, pointed it in their direction, and pulled the trigger. Good shoot....if it had ended there.
But the video shows one cop's gun jamming and being unable to clear the jam in a timely manner. Then a bunch of difficult to interpret cross talk about the radio. Then checking a personal phone that was ringing.
Seriously?
We get the "tactical retreat." We get the "time, distance, shielding." We get the "tactical reassessment" before going to arrest someone who just attempted to kill you.
But being unable to make your primary weapon usable AND poor radio discipline AND checking a phone?
F#$%ing seriously?

Their entire performance during the incident was a disgrace. Both should quit immediately, if not then fired for gross incompetence. That level of incompetence is reserved for our exempts.
Kids like these find comfort in their phone. Everyone now does what when they get pissed off? Or stressed out? They seclude themself, check out and look at their phone.. hell even I do it when I’m pissed or stressed, I sit there and surf the internet. Prob checked his phone out of pure habit. I’m sorry, but 95 percent.. maybe more of our recruits and people under 5 years on this job just flat out SUCK. Maybe 5 percent are good. The rest are not aggressive and have no clue what to do in an intense situation. They talk a big game but listen to all of them in any police shooting now on BWC of young kids. Blabbing and muttering their words like frightened 4 year olds.
Saw the videos posted to YouTube. Absolutely embarrassing to say the least. Two of the most useless cops in history. But hey, this is the department the city wanted. Drop the standards, hope for the best and “be the change.”
Do any old timers or older youngsters recall a time when we were not allowed to carry cellphones? There was a time we couldn't bring TVs to workbecause coppers were watching our listening to ball games, movies, programs whatever. There was a reason. Officer safety.
There was also a time when coppers brought their personal phones to work and make notifications from their own phones. What horrible consequences that had. Why not bring your own car to work and drive that around for patrol. Using your own phone to make work-related calls only benefitted the city.
I remember days when you said on the radio, "hold me down in 007 to make notifications on the pax," or in response to the Lt asking you to use your personal phone to call him with updates from the shooting scene, "No phone boss. Tell you when I get in. " they hated that.
A firearm is no good if it doesn't work or you don't practice using it.
Take care of your weapon and it will take care of you. Don't take care of it and you could end up dead or seriously wounded, or as in this case, looking incredibly incompetent.
Retreat back to the squad car while the armed offender doubles-back and is behind you…then just let the backup units deal with the offender we just shot at. That’s how we do now?
Most police officers are terrible at shooting and even clearing up weapon malfunctions.
Remember, this is all a skill. Any skill that is not practiced will diminish.
Good Lord!!!!
That’s copas new use of force model. Let them take the first shot. Only then do they consider it an imminent threat. Remember the Toledo and Alvarez shootings and a few more shootings with guns that the brain trust at COPA has ruled unjustified
Pride of the CPD.
Look at the bright side, they didn't kill her, so the usual suspects didn't get all riled up
Imagine this pair backing you up?
That in-service training is just too expensive.
That gun jam was likely from limp wristing. Both need to be seriously retrained but the female needs to reconsider if she wants to continue rolling the dice out on the street because she’s a danger to herself and others. Knowing how this dept works she’ll probably be hidden away and continue to collect 100k doing nothing.
You hired Barney Fife?
There is somebody that should not be on the police department they need to turn in their badge immediately. Wow incredible that is the training who is it that was in charge of the Academy when this person was trained couldn’t be Larry? Or could it be?
Cannot clear a jam answering the phone that is some of the most incredibly stupid stuff that I have ever seen by the grace of God. This officer was not shot and killed or the partner! Shows the quality of what they are hiring very dangerous
Holy flip! It is terrifying what the department and city leadership now value in a police officer. The bottom line is if his had been a perp with any skill whatsoever, these two officers would be dead. Next time you’re dispatched to a call like this, pay attention to who is backing you up and plan accordingly. Hopefully these two do themselves and everyone else a favour and quit before their incompetence gets another officer killed.
The voters decided this is what they now want keeping them safe - Good fucking luck.
That girl definitely is not police material at all, going to get herself or he partner hurt/killed who taught her? How did she get out of academy? Having trouble clearing her gun pulling slide back? Was her gun taken from her and checked for proper maintenance? Just another example of someone who should not be the police! To many otj that have no skillset especially the new generation of coppers, worried about her phone wtf? Surprised she did not just open the phone and start playing games on it and texting right there as most of them do all day! Safety definitely not on her bucket list! Was Larry the boss at the academy yet? Just askin!
Sounds like someone needs to be trained properly. Or is this a CPS graduate diversion y hire? Either way would not want to partner with her.
How many years on the job.
Any idea how long they've been on the job?
She’ll be a Gold Star Bosshole in less than 10 years.
If not? Teaching Officer Wellness with 7 years on.
Wow, just wow, the recording is horrendous. How does one not notice that their gun is that dry without oil, and then answering their phone. But don't worry, this person will be teaching gun safety at the academy soon.
The glock had a stovepipe. Limp wrist failure. Bad technique from the start.
Revolvers don't jam.
I wondering if her weapon malfunctioned or if she just didn't have a round in the chamber.
Let me guess, I bet the phone officer has 3 or less years on the job. It was ringing because he had a new updated TikTok video then he got the brigth idea to go viral. BE THE CHANGE
Absolutely useless POS! My gun just jammed let me get on my cell phone. Total Loser!
Gunfights like wakes like funerals
Always put your phone on vibrate beforehand
During stress induced, adrenaline overload people revert to what they’ve been trained to do. That’s why in the first aid certification class instructors are supposed to have people practice dialing 911 and hitting send on their phone. Once in flight or fight people do what they’re trying to do and if they have not trained, they don’t know what to do. Standards have been lowered, and many instructors at the Academy. Are there for a spot and not because they want to be good instructors. Less than two or 3% of the instructors there never joined an organization that teaches how to instruct properly. The 40 hour certification is nothing but an information dump.
I remember while in the 12th dist. walking by the front desk there were 4 kids fresh out of the academy talking nonsense and I realized how soft and stupid the department became when I hear them say: "Dude I updated my facebook just now, the other three say Damn dude we all did earlier give me a high five". I was like, WTF am I listening to. Social media is a joke with these new kids, always on their phone unaware of their surroundings.
Old School Solution: REVOLVERS! Specifically: Smith & Wesson .38 Special/ Blued Steel/ 4 inch Heavy Barrel/ Checkered Wood Stocks ( with a Pachymyer Grip Adaptor, if needed)/ Fixed Sights. With a dozen extra rounds.
And DAILY Inspections!
The Standard for nearly a century— until 1990s.
There are THREE(3) parts of a Semi Automatic Magazine-Fed “Weapons System”, whether a Rifle or a Pistol. The THREE(3) Parts are:
1. Weapon, itself, in this case, the Pistol
2. Ammunition
3. MAGAZINE
As had been shown in every war in the past 100 years, the MAGAZINE is the “ Weak Link”, the most-likely “ Point of Failure” in the entire System.
With regard to the Pistol itself, the most-likely problem is poor lubrication.
With regard to Ammunition, single most-likely problem is Primer ruined by repeated chambering of same cartridge OR contamination by lubricants used on Pistol. Do NOT lubricate cartridges. NO!
I
I’ve worked with the female officer in the video. She rarely drives and is always on her dam phone taking selfies during her tour. She’ll be a boss in no time.
I fear for the citizens and for the young coppers that were raised and validated by social media. It is a curse !! 25 years ago you were trying to leave your house by 18 yoa. Today they don’t want to leave the house till maybe 30!!Living life via phone
Young officers really need to do a self assessment get off the phone and start to train like their life depends on it because it does.
Looked like she was trying to call 9-1-1?
Agreed on the stove pipe from limp wrist…
Didn't these two come out of Ole' Uncle Lar's Training Academy? I guess that's what passes for well trained these days in CPD.
As much as I don't like Glocks, it's pretty tough to get one to do a failure-to-feed jam. I'll bet she's got slide bite from getting her weak hand in the way of the slide.
Well the good news is CPD video will be used by other departments to at the very least instill in the prospective officer not to be the next star of incompetence.
I posted the link to this in other discussions because it was personally painful for me to watch this video. I yelled for her to drop the mag and clear. I'm sure that Glock has never been cleaned or maintained. Her partner was almost as incompetent.
As I said in previous posts on this, relax Chicago, the replacement CPD officers have arrived.
Everyone wants to carry a short stem to look tacticool. If you insist on carrying a short stem on your molle, keep it in your pouch and talk just a little louder. So many videos out there, not just Chicago of officer involved shootings and officers have a radio in one hand and a firearm in the other. Good luck clearing a malfunction one handed. Easy to shame them because they're young but there are some clown ass old timers who wouldn't have done any better. Definitely should be some discipline handed down for not having their radios available and there needs to be a crackdown on these officers with long ass nails.
Amateur Hour. Teenage hood rats have better weapon skills
She did not TIRR for a stage one jam and was unable to rip the mag out to clear a stage two jam. Where'd she get her firearm training at?
Two of the most important tools to save your own life were interoperable why you on the street? Prolly never cleaned, lubed and safety checked that weapon to begin with and what ...did the radio have a dead battery? Number one priority should have been to clear her weapon and she's wasting precious time with her phone.
When you step thru that video by frame it looks like she at first grips the weapon with both hands to return fire and then for some reason takes one hand off when she actually shoots which may have also contributed to the weapon jamming.
Her partner runs off solo to go after the offender and she's yelling CLEAR and COME BACK with the gun still jammed THEN removes herself from cover and concealment hopelessly exposed to walk down the street with no radio still looking down and fiddling with her jammed weapon. What she gonna do call time out or checks should the lead start coming her way again?
Both under 2 years OTJ and enough time to be off probation. Same academy hire date for both of em
Both less than 2 years on. One still a Ppo. Radio miscommunication is because dude wanted to be cool for some reason and take a radio with no mic, thereby giving him one less hand to use during an emergency. He dropped the radio as shit hit the fan. Why she couldn’t use hers? No clue. Maybe she didn’t have a mic either and had her hands full with a cell phone and a jammed up dry as hell gun.
Maybe she was checking her phone to Goggle, how to clear a weapons jam?
To stop killers you have to be a killer, or you get killed.
Smart phones will be the deaths of many.
As in all things, tech can be your friend or worst enemy.
Question is: are you being the boss of tech or is the tech being the boss of you?
First off WTF is the idiot in the front seat doing in the car? Second why are you still seated in the car when shots are being fired at your partners. Next, where the fuck is your radio and you have to be told to call a 10-1 when shots are being fired. Lastly, get your dumb ass out of the car and chase this idiot who attempted to murder two police officers.
For shame.
What are you talking about the guy runs away abandoning his partner drops his radio because he has it in his hands instead of being secured on his vest or his belt having in his hands free so he's not able to use any tools then she can't clear a simple malfunction her radio isn't working but she has time to stop and decline an incoming phone call thank God these two made it out alive
Rumor was that these are both ppos working together on overtime so from their training to their own background checks and Personnel checks and whoever's the supervisor that thought this was a good idea should all be ashamed of themselves
Regarding above comments about limp wristing Pistol.
Could it be something else: Improper 2-hand Grip with thumbs crossed over behind Slide, so Slide cannot properly move to rear, in recoil? (Failure of the Slide ( noun) to “ slide” ( verb)?)
new generation for you.
A number of years a range officer I knew said during in-service training, they would find officers with no round chambered. One day as acting WC on Wednesday weapon inspection day, I had each officer go to the safety station, drop the magazine and pull the slide back. I found two officers with no round chambered. Back in the wheel gun days, the WC would find revolvers with green brass and frozen cylinders during the weekly weapon inspection.
This is exactly what the Commie politicians want, incompetent police officers!
They lowered the standards to the point that its almost non-existent, that police are hired based on #1, race, #2, gender, and finally competence.
Today they are coming on the Job for the money very few are the police,Retired 4 years ago and rode with a lot of PPOs and they had their head buried in the phone.
Stop carrying cordless radios. Secure your gear and have it accesible! Seen it too many times where guys get into shit and can’t get to their radios or they drop it. If your holster was before glocks were made it’s time to buy new one. No one cares about your sentimental value. Your gear should be functional and safe.
This is what inspectors should be looking for. Is your equipment functional? Do you know how to safely clear your weapon and clear a malfunction? Not gigging us for freaking uniform pants or facial hair. This dept is a joke! Worst part is how all these “alpha chads” walk around like they’re God’s gift to law enforcement.
Back in the day whenever I came in for weapon qualification, the range instructors would try to convince me to switch from my revolver to an semi-auto. They’d go on and on about rate of fire and stopping power (this was when our crappy department issue +P ammo was known to bounce off windshields). They’d also touted the magazine capacity. If I was ever in a situation where I needed 12 shots (back up snub) I always figured I had bigger problems. The conversation always ended with me asking if autos jammed.

I came on before cell phones. Before cars had radios in them. I’d bring a portable radio the size of a pack of cigarettes, telescopic antenna and all, and rubber band it to the visor so we could listen to music, baseball games etc.
Those days are missed.
Where was her radio ?!! He asked her to call someone - where was his radio ?
To see the full BWC videos, the POD camera and listen to the radio transmissions go to the COPA website and under the Data Portal go to the file under 02-Sep-23. I guess this is what the city wants…real de-escalation. But when did the academy teach the bunny-hop technique to shooting? And both officers got off a shot (the offender never did), so what did they shoot? The pavement or one of the parked cars?
And for people who say don’t “armchair quarterback” that’s all the instructors do and all the civilians at COPA do. At in-service we watch BWC from some small bohunk department with completely different SOPs and discuss how this department is somehow better.

What does it matter? They both are adults who went through the academy, are in good health and under 30. They both got trained in the use of striker-fired handguns and qualified this year (she had a Glock - he had an Sig- who says those pistols never jam?) They are “part of the change” that the city has been promoting for the past seven years. Kyle Rittenhouse didn’t have any police training but cleared his jam while under physical attack and took care of business.
I’m pretty sure the Female P.O didn’t have a round in the chamber…… because if you watch the video you hear her pull the trigger followed by clicking sound. I don’t even think she fired a round. Watch the tape back closely
Also both have just about 2 years on…. I believe in the same class too. According to the TRR reports that were published by COPA
Just out here “being the change”.
This is what the city wants.
This is what the voters want.
If you think this is incompetent, just wait, sit back, and enjoy the future follies of the TikTok police.
Surely there are more to follow.
I always check my phone while working. Especially if it’s a Tinder notification.
Hey boo i gotta ring u back my gun jammed shiz
That's a disgrace to Barney Fife.
My revolver never ever, ever, ever jammed.
Diversity Includes Equity = DIE
Embarrassing. The Commander of the Academy should be dumped. CPD has become the laughingstock of LE. I can’t wait to retire. The whole world is laughing.
Future Exempt material right there.
Turn in their badge? Badge?
Are you a suburban cop? LAPD? Security Guard?

We dont need no stinkin badges….
Ok its a “star” , lol they are pretty interchangeable terms
If that was me, I'd be taking days for bwc late activation, cursing, no radio and who else knows what... These 2... merit up the ladder. This department and city are FUC**D
Maybe some more yoga taught in the academy is needed
Everyone needs to learn how to be the police. That said, send them back for better gun training, amd give am extra battery for the radios. .a y many times i have had the radio die on me. O e ti.e, at the scene of a fore, my radio fell completely apart. It was a new radio.
Ok. So my 2 cents. Both should have radios. Communicate with each pther. If i see a man or woman with a gun, i' ll say something tp you. If you fecide to foot chase, say something, like, lets go. Better yet, drive thw car after her wjile the pther chases on foot. Or call for backup first then chase. If sje is not caught today she can be caught another day. Give a flash and direction of travel. Make sure both of your radios work. Communicate so you are on the same page.
I'm waiting for their new rap video on tiktok, in uniform. Both talented beyond belief.
Did you see the video of the idiot arrested in Florida last year? Another real winner. Acted just like a perp.
All this talk about LUBRICANTS has me excited! What does “ The Expert” on Personal ( and Pistol) Lubricants, the Keesing Bandit in his pretty loft, have to say?

These coppers are a liability, whether they want to say it or not they are lucky the shooter ran away. Never have I seen so much fuckery in one setting.
The female in the video will one day be a deputy chief and the guy in the video will soon be teaching tactics at the academy. That’s the only ending they makes sense in Chicago.
Pretty obvious effort over the past decade or so to purge law enforcement of the "old guard" and bring-in people more willing to go along with the political transformation underway in america.
Most of these people will eventually become part of the "red army" whenever that switch is thrown. Ask anyone that lived through Mao's china in the 50's and 60's and they will tell you that the local "red armies" were led by the local police.
You can make the same comparison to what's happening with our military under Biden. Pushing out freedom lovers and bringing-in everything else.

RENO 911!
Technology does not make things easier or safer in all Street circumstances.
How would this have been done about 1980:
A. NO Pistols— Revolvers only
B. Radios in vehicles only and not on person
C. No Smart Phones— not even Cellular Flip Phones
More Training and Less Modern Technology

Both hands totally useless on the radio, and even more so on that pistol. But, I bet they’ll find their true usefulness of some boss’s Johnson in just a matter of time. What a danger she is anybody else. Let’s promote her and help make the streets a little safer.
Idiots who think holding their radio looks cool. You have two hands, the department provides radios that can be safely be operated without compromising your radio or your second hand. Yet every other person cries when the radio room doesn't have a short stem.
We dont need no stinkin badges….

Oh no they’re not.
There is a distinct difference between a “Badge” like the LAPD wears, a “Shield” for NYPD and the “Star” worn by CPD which is probably the most coveted, respected and treasured item a Police Officer receives upon completion of the academy.

Lucky for citizens that this current crop of nimrods are so effectively dependent upon compliance.
When this rule of laws becomes the primary weapon to subjugate the peasants, well, no amount of luck will equal voluntary compliance.
The hoodrats will not comply, only replying with violence.
The citizens will not comply, and, if violence is used against them, will respond with same, since the law enforcers have become the subjugators' thugs.
What a fine mess this would be.....

That’s great Greg
For all the old-timers crying “should go back to revolvers - they never jam”…just stop it. What good were 6 rounds of .38 Special going to do in that incident?! If they couldn’t hit the offender calmly walking away at 25 feet with a 5-pound trigger pull how are they going to hit anything with a 10-pound double-action revolver trigger? Bwahahaha! If you watch the POD camera video they probably would have just shot each other or killed every parked car on the street. {snicker}
The glock had a stovepipe. Limp wrist failure. Bad technique from the start.
I never owned an automatic. What does stove pipe mean?
Limp wrist failure sounds like something the kissing bandit could explain.
I don’t get why after the shooting they stayed near the squad car and were walking back and forth, with the male officer searching for something on the ground with his flashlight, and the female officer picking up a live round she cleared from her jammed weapon and then she was fiddling with her cellphone. Look for the offender who just tried to kill both of you!

02:02PM…..she had a radio but the battery was dead. These two rock stars did an extension of tour but didn’t change their batteries. Her radio died and as stated he had a short stem to be cool, and dropped the radio when shit started to happen. Something else that no one has commented on, she openly bragged about “her phone call” so yes, if true she will be exempt someday soon. Just what the department needs! SAD
Perp? Badge? When is the next class, I’ve been waiting a month?? Is this blog no longer for actual CPD?
She should be fired from the job for COWARDICE!
There was a Latin King with the same last name Killed about 15 years ago with the same last name in the same general area. I wonder if it’s the same POS family?
"I’m pretty sure the Female P.O didn’t have a round in the chamber…… because if you watch the video you hear her pull the trigger followed by clicking sound. I don’t even think she fired a round. Watch the tape back closely "
Range guy here. Mostly likely true it could also be a bad primer or pistol was not in battery. However, seeing she is completely useless, My bet is she didn't have one in the pipe.
Follow-up to 28 Oct at 1733/// As concerns PRIMERS: The repeated chambering/ unloading ( un chambering) of a cartridge WILL damage the primer to the degree that it may not fire on impact of the firing pin. Also, this can damage the bullet to cartridge crimp, so it may not fully chamber, as well as the rim of the cartridge, which may affect extraction. Another Commenter mentioned what lubricants do to primers. This is also a consideration.
OMG. What a disgrace to the uniform I once wore so proudly. As an FI I can't imagine what type of firearms training both POs received at academy. What a disgrace! Tactics nonexistent! Couldn't even clear a simple jam! Checking her phone? Did she google how to clear and get firearms back into action? Did she ever experience any type of malfunction training in academy?
So glad I'm not policing in this beephole of a city anymore. I know there are a lot of fine POs still with CPD so I hope you stay safe. Couldn't imagine working with jackasses like those shown in the video.
Brothers and sisters - be safe.
To those who question how one can shoot a revolver accurately in double action, “ Once upon a time, long long ago...”’( like mid 1970s) CPD (and many other Agencies) taught TWO- stage Double Action. You press the trigger back about half-way, take up about half the weight of the trigger press, THEN, you take another sight picture, and, maintaining sight alignement, finish the trigger squeeze, moving the trigger straight back in line with the axis of the barrel, with the very little weight remaining. It works on Smith & Wesson and works even better on the old Colts ( like the . 38 Special Official Police) which naturally ( due to the V- mainspring) have a 2 -stage trigger squeeze.
I never owned an automatic. What does stove pipe mean?
A 'stovepipe' means the slide is blocked from going back into battery (the chamber can't close again) by an empty cartridge case turned sideways. "Limp wristing" (i.e. a weak hold) can cause this kind of stoppage, because the rest of the gun flies backward at the same time the slide and the cartridge are trying to fly backward, making the latter's motion slower and smaller with respect to the former.
Too bad the criminal wasn't run over with the squad... "oh she walked away" - dah fuq? Damned Democrats...
There are coppers who do not view their weapon as a life saving tool, but as an ornament that is required to be worn. Just because it’s a Glock and no need to service it, it will run dry, is bullshit. Inspect your weapon, clean it, oil on the slide and frame is affected by gravity, especially so if you never draw it and that barrel is pointing down 99% of its existence, use a good synthetic grease, it won’t run. Inspect your magazines. Make sure the cartridges are properly seated in the magazine in your pistol and on your belt. If you can’t do this shit then make a trip to the range or find a cop you is competent. The radio is not going to save your life when the POS is standing over you with his/her weapon about to fire again. Thank God those cops lucked out.
She saw the gun and ran, firing behind her back, and then it jammed. The entire thing was pretty pathetic.

Idiots who think holding their radio looks cool...

So true. They use short-stem radios not realizing what an obvious danger they put themselves in. All because it looks cool just like "Tac" or the antenna is too long or their ass is too wide. Not so much a problem of course if you can shoot one-handed really well...and if CPD weapons "training" and "qualifications" are any indication I'm guessing most officers will limp-wrist and cause a double-feed (exactly just like the one this female officer had). Most will probably shoot the ground or the sky. No worries...the annual firearms qualification in 2024 will just be made easier to pass. {Honk Honk} Clown World Policing.
Lubricants are important in all facets of life.
From one who knows.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
If Van Dyke had used a revolver, he would still be on the job.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
I remember a Lt. in 018 that banned cell phones on his watch. Lt. Kenny. I forget his first name. Pretty good boss.
There is a distinct difference between a “Badge” like the LAPD wears, a “Shield” for NYPD and the “Star” worn by CPD which is probably the most coveted, respected and treasured item a Police Officer receives upon completion of the academy.
Retired, 30+
Cause I'm a fuckin star! My ego couldn't resist 🤣
I remember the story of the two who went to qualify and the one partner had a Jolly Rancher stuck in the barrel of his weapon.
Still less embarrassing than this.

For all the old-timers crying “should go back to revolvers - they never jam”…just stop it. What good were 6 rounds of .38 Special going to do in that incident?! If they couldn’t hit the offender calmly walking away at 25 feet with a 5-pound trigger pull how are they going to hit anything with a 10-pound double-action revolver trigger? Bwahahaha! If you watch the POD camera video they probably would have just shot each other or killed every parked car on the street. {snicker}

MAXED OUT ABOUT TO PULL THE PLUG. Always carried my 5 shot off duty but with the current state of the world I now, quite often, carry my 13 + 1 Sig off duty. The revolver just isn;t enough.

I carried my Ruger Police Security 6 .357 Revolver on the job for 28 years. My trigger pull pressure was no way near 10 pounds, and it was not a "double action" revolver, but could be fired as one.
Many Officers have done quite well with a revolver during their years of service. Some used to say " If I can't get the job done with 6, then F it!". Revolver training back then included how to reload quickly and safely if it came down to it. Of course a semi auto is superior due to amount of rounds you can fire before reloading, but as was noted, it has it's down sides as well.
Your post reeks of self righteousness and lack of accurate information.
And also, respect.
Probably better off her gun jammed. She would have shot her partner. If you notice, while attempting to clear she pointed it in her partner’s direction and at herself!
