Conde Nast Smoking Weed

Seven years running? That's some damn good reefer:

  • The qualities of the “Windy City” have earned it a prestigious honor for a seventh straight year.

Condé Nast Traveler has once again named Chicago as the best big city in the United States in the well-known magazine’s Readers Choice Awards. It’s an honor the city has earned every year since 2017. The 2023 results being based on the votes of 520,000 readers.

“Today’s recognition of our great city as the Condé Nast Traveler’s Best Big City in The U.S., for the seventh year in a row, is proof that Chicago continues to be a force as a destination for visitors from all over the globe,” said Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson in a statement. “We have something for everyone — 77 amazing communities, beautiful parks and lakefront, world class arts, culture and food, and much more.

Hotels are reporting tons of empty rooms. The cheaper hotels are currently housing hundreds of illegals. Michigan Avenue resembles a plywood forest. Tourist venues like the Signature Room are closing/have closed due to declining revenues.

Tourists aren't coming here to see Englewood, North Lawndale, Auburn, Chatham and other neighborhoods.

UPDATE: Obviously, Conde Nast is a lefty mag. And lefty mags gotta talk up how GREAT Chicago is going to be next fall for the convention.

Our lovely city is merely staying true to the world as designed.

Come for the pleasures, stay for the pains.

Some people enjoy going to really dangerous places they may not return from.
Perhaps it was under the category of high adventure travel.

Scary thought:

Chicago is the best of the 40 or 50 Big Blue Shitholes?
NYFC, LA, San Francisco, Philthydelphia, Boston, Baltimore, Houston and Dallas are worse than Chicago?

Maybe Conde Nast is correct?

1st, ha ha Tourists aren't coming here to see Englewood, North Lawndale, Auburn, Chatham and other neighborhoods holy fuck this is hilarious thank you

Now to business. Fop conference Vegas 2023
during the (horrible) pitch to get the conference in Chicago, some broad from Mccormick place(?) stated that conde nast voted us #1 place to visit. I thought to myself wtf that don't mean shit and shouldn not be (the) main argument/ key selling point. Did i mention how absolutely bad the (lack of) presentation was. Utah looked prepared and invested. Sorry John, we looked like we woke up in a drunken stupor realizing the presentation was due in 2 days and looking across the table to our drinking buds decided to have each person come up a single sentence why conference should be at Chicago and Mccormickgirl just attached the generic 'Mccormick place convention center video. Very nonspecific and generic. DID I MENTION HOW IT SUCKED

I clearly have issues with this I'm still working thru lol conde nest ptsd

Best big city? All the others are worse. Only explanation. All big cities are In Democratic control and have large non white majorities.
Also they here is the fact that the lake is a big draw. Only other big city on freshwater lake is Detroit, so by comparison Chicago kinda looks good but not for long with new joke of a Mayor.

Believe your own eyes. Use expedia and search hotel room availability and rates in Chicago then Nashville.

Look at the huge disparity in cost and availability!

That would be a catchy weed strain "conde nast,"talk about lies! Who owns them has to be democratic party because ask anyone especially a copper they will tell you the truth! Chiraq is a rapidly plunging shithole now ran by the party of destruction! Leadership makes people feel they are going to get the best in their cities here we have none!

Talked to people that will never consider even visiting downtown areas much less anywhere else due to not knowing if your return trip will be via ambulance to hospital or your vehicle. totally lawless city-county-state zero punishment! Its biblical:

Chicago IS “ World Class” in one regard: Transportation. No inland city in the World has better Transportation than Chicago. Chicago has “ Geographic Privilege”! It started with Water Transport ( Great Lakes and Canals), then progressed to Railroads, then Air ( Midway ( pre War) and O’ Hare ( post War), and culminated in Interstate Highways ( beginning in 1955).

This “ Geographic Privilege” is why Chicago will always and forever be a World Class City!

Why does it cost much less to rent a moving truck say from Nashville to Chicago, but so expensive to move with a rental truck out of here? Answer simple because they need those vehicles back! You gamble when you visit, your family is on pins and needles worried about your visit here! We not long ago enjoyed 12th street beach but last couple of years no way, sorry don't want to take our family and life in my own hands! Yes you can carry legally all you want but you shoot a urban terrorist and you will find yourself caught in the hamster wheel of no justice! Especially if your not the catered to criminal demographic!

I know better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6, no better if your not living in this criminal enterprise lawless place!! God bless the police they are all we have even though they are restrained by the democratic demigods!

There is a darker side to Condé Nast “Best Of” reviews that I saw first hand when I was a dick at #640. About twenty years ago I was reading a copy of “Conde Nast Traveler” that featured a glitzy four color editorial extolling the gritty charm of a hot new lounge in the middle of the shitville known as Bt. #1311 near California and Augusta. I shook my head as I read the nonsense. The author gushed about the “California Clipper” bar that had opened in the “up and coming” Humboldt Park neighborhood. Anyone of us would know better; however, about a year later a young black female in her twenties-without an IR#-met friends for dinner and never made home from the Clipper. Upon leaving the Condé Nast “must experience” California Clipper she drove from the bar and within twenty yards of the bars front entrance was caught in a gun battle between two groups of Puerto Rican bangers with one shot finding her head and killing her. She was one of the few “good victims” I recall in eight years in the D. Some people have no clue, and no way of filtering out the bullshit printed in the media.

"Now to business. Fop conference Vegas 2023...."

WTF are you talking about? The woman wasn't "from McCormick place", she from the Chicago convention and visitor bureau. This video highlighted all the good things Chicago has to offer. Utah was completely unprepared and had a terrible presentation. The big take away was "our bars stay open later now". Where you even at the convention?
