Aldercreatures are (finally) feeling the heat from voters:
- A downtown Chicago alderman is calling for the city to permanently
close a major migrant shelter that has been operating at the Inn of
Chicago, just steps from the Magnificent Mile.
“This site is not suitable for its current use as a migrant shelter,” Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) said in a written statement Monday evening. “Its location in the Central Business District is inappropriate. It is one block away from the vital economic engine that is Michigan Avenue and within feet of multiple downtown hotels that we need to keep filled with visitors to our city.”
Housing 1,530 migrants as of September 22, the Inn of Chicago site at 162 East Ohio is the single largest migrant shelter in the city, according to an online dashboard maintained by Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th). According to Hopkins, former Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration opened the Inn of Chicago shelter “with no aldermanic input.”
The latest money numbers are $300 million, amended to $350 million, and estimated to top half-a-billion shortly....which Chicago doesn't have, won't have, and isn't going to get much of.
- Isais Olmo had a stroke of good luck this summer when prosecutors dropped the gun possession case he was facing. But he had some particularly bad luck a couple of weeks ago when cops found him shot on a Humboldt Park street with a loaded firearm under his body. He’s fighting a fresh gun case as a result.
You know what would have stopped this? More gun laws! Because Isais obviously would have finally followed just one more gun law.
Chicago cops are hitting the streets with some old-fashioned legwork to help spread the word about recent robberies on the DePaul University campus in Lincoln Park.
Officers were spotted near Halsted and Fullerton on Saturday morning, chatting with DePaul students and handing out informational flyers about recent nighttime sprees on campus.
A passerby who saw the cops in action told CWBChicago that the outreach was “good to see. Getting back to basics.”
DePaul students marched against the CPD. DePaul students demanded that off-duty Officers taking classes at the university be banned. A communist DePaul "gender studies" graduate defaced the Officer French memorial. Perhaps instead of subjecting Officers to this poisonous atmosphere, PH1 could air-drop biodegradable leaflets over the campus.

O.T. There's a great arrest in 016 where a 10-99 Female Sgt. (all cars in a RAP) took on a two man robbery crew at the Walgreens, Central and Montrose, and put the hooks on the offenders, old school style! Shit heads beat the pharmacy staff and terrorized them until the "Real Po-Leece" showed up. I'm guessing Walgreens won't release the video, lest pharmacy staff in their other stores realize just how vulnerable they are. This a success story MSM won't tell you.

Handing out information flyers? That is not getting back to basics. That is feel good policing. Getting back would be to go hunting for the robbery offenders. Hunting would mean aggressive police work, street stops, and chasing. Not going to happen in this progressive liberal democratic run state.

What is the nightly room rate? Normally around $200 a night. Is that what the City is paying them? Plus, the City most likely is loosing the room tax.
From reading the reviews for this Hotel, it definitely needed an upgrade. So what better way to get the money for renovations. I am sure that after the ILLEGALS leave they will bill the City for the destruction that was already there.

When I was a junior at DePaul in ‘91 JJ Bittenbinder came to our dorm and talked about safety. He was a great guy with a lot of knowledge since he was a Chicago Police Detective. DePaul doesn’t want that type of help now. My DePaul degree isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. I’m embarrassed by the University and their dislike for the police. I feel the same about this Department as a Detective. The sergeants and the rest of the higher ranks are responsible for the state of this job. It’s not just the citizens.

This i correct the innocent law abiding will be paraded around like a clown, they will be in jail no bail help until trial multiple continuances to hold them, loss of all they worked for all because of a felon with a lengthy arrest record that kim foxx refused to do her job along with the judges that refuse to uphold the law as written!
