So the leftist mayor of San Francisco has proposed testing recipients of government money to make sure they aren't on dope. This after accusing anyone on the Right who proposed this as racist.
Philadelphia says "Hold my beer:"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- City council has essentially approved a ban on safe injection sites opening in Philadelphia.
"This is a ban on being able to put a center like this one in a community," Councilmember Quetcy Lozada said.
City council said "no" to safe injection sites in Philadelphia on Thursday. In a 14-1 vote, the council overrode Mayor Jim Kenney's veto and passed a bill that would effectively ban the facilities in the city.
The west coast shitholes like Portland and Seattle have pretty much legalized hard injectable drugs like heroin with "safe spaces" and free needle exchanges. They got the idea from Europe. Everywhere it's been tried, rates of addiction went up.
Philly pols voted 14-to-1 to stop enabling addicts and elephants have been spotted flying.
Sanity seems to be breaking out on the left.

Dollars to donuts that 3.2 seconds after the election is over, they go right back to having 'safe injection' sites, etc. because they're likely getting a cut of the fat envelopes from the dealers running those places.

They should supply them all the fentanyl they can inject. No Narcan, but lots and lots of free fentanyl.

You mean like Brandon Johnson he has how many needed on the street CPD coppers? Another waste they terminated the contract for PLET CPD trainers firing 130 then they brought in how many street coppers to "teach," at a much higher rate? So that would be about 300 ahh more than that considering other "details," that is a district or 2 of manpower playing "secretary with a gun," rolls unlimited overtime!

Eric Adams in NYC must have gotten some big pharmaceutical company contributions lately because he is proposing that every man, woman and child should carry around Narcan syringes at all times. I guess ya never know when some junkie will OD right in front of you. He is pushing for “safe injection sites” around the city so junkies can shoot up with adult supervision just in case the fentanyl they bought was stronger than they thought.
I have a home in a small country club community is the mountains of North Carolina. The chardonnay-swilling leftie bleeding heart women in our community (almost all retired schoolteachers) are petitioning the City Council and County Commission to fund “safe injection sites” around the county, and especially in the nearby town that is the county seat. When I argue that if you make it easier and more convenient for junkies to shoot up, you end up with…more junkies! More addicts, more homeless people, more crime, filth in the streets. If you want to turn our community into a small San Francisco (which, I’m told, Asheville is becoming), then make our town more “welcoming” to junkies and homeless people. Of course, I am called “heartless” and “cruel” by these brainless twits.
What’s interesting about this is Philadelphia only has 15 alderscum. While Chicago has an unbelievable 50! Yes I know Chicago is bigger but not that much. proportionally Chicago is way way over represented. mayors never want to decrease the number because they will never get overridden and have every single policy approved. Getting 26 alderscum to go against them is nearly impossible. Cut the number down to a more reasonable 25 alderscum and now the mayor has to be more diplomatic and listen to all of them. Also intersecting how Phillys scumbag mayor has let crime go through the roof and he actually still wants these open air junkie zones? When he loses 14-1 that really says something.
Narcan? Just wondering if the police have immunity if they administer this drug and the junkie dies?

Let them all shoot up and die. Kind of like a self cleaning oven. A problem that takes care of itself. Drug addiction is not a disease but a choice.
The Mayor of New York City wants the citizens to carry Narcan. I assume bought at their expense. With no reimbursement for its use. Or any indemnification if it goes bad.
I don't think too many New Yorkers are going to do that.
