- Separate shootings left people injured on Navy Pier and in River
North overnight, Chicago police said Saturday morning. No arrests have
been made.
The Navy Pier shooting occurred as dinner cruise guests debarked near the Ferris wheel around 12:20 a.m.
Chicago police said security guards escorted a man from the ship after he got into an argument with a woman while the boat was docked on the south side of the pier. He returned a few minutes later and fired shots toward the ship, striking a 31-year-old woman in the left knee, according to CPD.
What a story this woman is going to have when she returns home.
Apologies to CWB for linking all their stories this weekend. You guys are the only people reporting on crimes lately.

I heard of a tourist getting an UBER and telling him to take there group to the bad parts of the city. The UBER guy told them are you crazy! This isn’t a safari. We could get killed and he wouldn’t be involved in craziness. Chicago is no joke! Some tourist can’t imagine what bad crime is or the evil that’s out there. Crime has been out of control for some time. No signs of change for the better coming anytime soon.

We'd make a fortune launching "Gangster rides". Monorail cars that allow tourists to watch gangsters in their native habitat with specific stops along the way. "Ak47 Heaven" and "open air drug block stop". We could let the tourists experience the ultimate thrill ride of ducking 32's of 9mm from da gat's to the background music of da rap.
At the end of the tour we could have a gift shop where they can buy shit like autographed syringes and T-shirts.

A comment from a retired guy. Escaped from the city upon retirement but still in Illinois, please hold derogatory comments, living inn a nice semi rural area about 100 miles away. Recently a local tour operator has been advertising about a shopping trip by bus to Chicago. Only $30 round trip to vista "fabulous " Michigan Ave. The comments from the less informed had me laughing. It appears that many still have their heads buried in the sand and talked about all the fancy stores and restaurants they could visit, Navy Pier, the Art Museum, a stroll thru Grant Park. My comments on the local blog were not taken seriously and dismissed as being inappropriate. I showed the shopping trip and to the spouse and she laughed almost as much as me. "Are these people nuts?" Was her comment. Maybe the dangers of becoming a crime victim in Chicago really hasn't reached the ears of many folks and many will still visit. My charming and lovely declined my offer for a fabulous date to Michigan Ave.

Navy Pier hasn't been safe for several years. All the family-friendly attractions were taken out once the ghetto riots and "teen" takeovers on the pier started. If you think Navy Pier is bad wait until they open the Chicago casino at Halsted & Chicago. Our casino will be just like Chuck E Cheese...or Doug & Busters with slot-machines.
Two weeks ago a man was shot on the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue. Yes, he was shot on one of our premiere tourist sites, The Magnificent Mile.
Once the criminal element discovered that the 1st and 18th districts have very few officers assigned, they rolled in. The 1st and 18th districts also have a lot of money, a lot of people and a lot of tourists. So a lot of prospects to victimize.
For non police: the 1st and 18th districts mean the downtown and near north area of the city.
and any day now the city will report on how they found out who shot that woman sitting inside white sox park (sarcasm)

You get that angry after a boat ride with food, drinks and dancing. Maybe the fault lies with the African American community/conflict resolution and not with white people.

The "Magnificent Morgue Mile" and the near north side are the newly discovered hunting grounds of the gansta's and killa's. The tourists are fresh meat in the hunting grounds and the predators know it. The criminal associates in the media do their usual job of hiding the criminality and the politicians that allow it to flourish. The corruption, denials and deceptions are the Chicago Way.

Doubt they catch and charge the person. Even if it was on camera, Kimmy will find a way to let him off. It’s the Cook county way. Charge cops for removing a trespasser from the beach but refuse all charges for criminal shooters on agg batteries.

018 actually is one of the most staffed districts in the city. Of course that includes their entertainment cars, tons of useless tact cars, ect. But nonetheless, there are plenty of cops there.

Was in south Florida recently. Happy people, crime wasn't the topic of conversation, and the woke DSA nonsense isn't tolerated. It was hard coming back to Chicago.
