Mayor Brandon Johnson is blaming the growing migrant crisis in Chicago on his predecessor Lori Lightfoot, saying he "inherited" the influx of immigrants from the previous administration.
Johnson criticized Lightfoot during a press conference on Tuesday announcing the "Unity Initiative," an interfaith partnership between 17 churches agreeing to take immigrants in from police stations. Like many Democratic-led cities, Chicago has received 20,000 immigrants over the last 14 months from southern border states. Thousands of these immigrants are staying in airports and police stations as the Johnson administration looks to put up permanent housing before winter.
Last week, Blowie was blaming the "far right" for his woes, ignoring the fact that republicans haven't held city or county office in years. We're used to that.
Make a note of this, because it's one of the rare times you'll ever see a democrat blaming another democrat for the ills of the current administration. It's also rarer to see a black democrat blaming a female black lesbian democrat, so maybe we ought to go out and buy lottery tickets tonight.
And the media reporting it? Holy crap, they must have gotten some direct orders to undermine Groot's "legacy" or squash any national ambitions.
And why is the media bringing up this....AFTER the budget was already passed?
With his first budget, Mayor Brandon Johnson could have reopened more mental health clinics, addressed homelessness without pushing for a controversial tax on high-end real estate transactions and hacked a bigger chunk off the city’s mountain of unfunded pension liabilities.
By the city’s accounting, he could have been able to do all of that while taking bigger swings at other campaign promises without breaking a sweat over a projected $538 million budget shortfall — and still had millions to spare for the city’s burgeoning migrant crisis.
There’s just one thing Johnson would have had to do to make this fiscal fantasy come true: Force a generation of debtors to pay up.
For the record, the astronomical debt owed Chicago can't be laid at Blowie's doorstep - he's been in office maybe three-quarters of a year and these debts run back decades - but the tenor of the article is that he should be doing more to collect it. We're taking this to mean if he doesn't, there will be (yet again) another massive tax hike on the horizon.
All this while spending money on illegals, tent cities and a predicted double-digit pay raise for CTU.

The serious busy ness of flim flamming the citizens, payers of taxes and no tax moochers alike, has bloated to such egregious levels that there is barely less than a smidgeon of the humorous to be found.
Thus, the only source of humorous solace remaining is the proven fact that each and every body is gonna be rendered dead and feed the insects, sooner or later.

These churches are not taking migrants in by the goodness and kindness of their hearts. They just have to comply with the IRS code 501 (c) (3) which will give them the ability to get government grants. Many do so for other things. There will be plenty of money to be doled out from the goodness and kindness of your hearts the aka the taxpayers.
The goal of these millions of Illegal Migrants is to overwhelm the Social Welfare System and BREAK IT.

The true believers think 30-50 million dead in the revolution and chaos are just a price to pay for true Marxist Leninist rule. Then comes the hard work of building the True Communist Society. He can blame everyone else but that’s not going to solve the many problems that the City has. It appears he lacks the skills for financial management, leadership, accountability and economic development. He needs to break ranks from the Democrat party and refuse any more migrants (Mayor Eric Adams, New York, finally admitted the the migrants are destroying his city) and he needs to develop a plan on what to do with the rest of them that are here and milking the city dry.
In 2012 Johnson helped organized the Chicago Teacher’s strike. Maybe he could organize the migrants and lead them out of the city like the Pied Piper did.

They only cover private sector pensions.
After Ald. Janette Talyor ripped him (https://abc7chicago.com/jeanette-taylor-brandon-johnson-the-ben-joravsky-show-chicago-city-council/14130257/) and now these black groups are threatening him, Mayor BJ is going to need to apply an extra layer of shoe polish to his hair and beard to dye over all the extra grey hairs that have sprouted up recently.

Wow, I had never heard of Cloward-Piven. It was proposed by two leftist socialists in the sixties in an article in the Nation magazine. What’s interesting is the quote below. This is literally the the last sentence of the article. So true and straight out of the mouth of their (condescending) benefactors.

That is the winning strategy! We have so many cps schools closed, or with filled overpaid staffs operating at minimal capacity, so much waste, but then again they installed brandon so they will get billions more to do less! What is the graduation rate again?
City and state pensions will probably take a haircut in the coming years,we will b lucky to get half of whats owed to us!
