Worst "Journalist" Awards
Our friends over at the Chicago Contrarian have their list of the worst reporters in the Chicago media scene for 2023 up:
In many cities across the country, media outlets are seen as taking sides, often encouraging a polarized set of opinions. News media is also frequently criticized for refusing to call out lies, for deliberately holding back information, or creating a false equivalence of partisan opinions.
Nowhere in the country is media more guilty of creating news stories riddled with bias, errors, narrative setting, obscuring facts, and pack reporting than Chicago. With barely a day passing without one of more Chicago media organization exposing their liberal bias — whether it be the framing of a story or error — 2023 saw countless glaring examples in which members of Chicago’s mainstream press continued to expose their most cherished belief systems to the public in their news reports.
The view of undisguised media bias held by news consumers was not created in a vacuum. For years, at least, the idea of impartiality has been barely even a credible aspiration among Chicago journalists. The presumption journalists were capable of rising above their personal preferences in any context has been met by recurring, hollow laughter. In 2023, this was particularly evident in much of what Chicago media covered. Just as Contrarian has done in the past two years, contributors to this website have assembled a few examples of miserable journalism.
They cite and list and castigate five of the worst examples of lib-tarded biased slanted "reporting" that has driven trust in the media below that of most politicians. Go read it all.
The list of media layoffs and closures nationwide is extensive and growing by the day. Hopefully, this trend will take down one of the major newspapers here in town shortly and will continue in all other platforms.

The opportunity that communication technology presented, some few decades ago, was considered, by these mutts, as a given benefit to their propagandist's ways.
Alas, 'twas not to be that easy.
This technology of communications is the classic two edged sword.
Much akin to that razor sharp blade, no matter how much they try to make it cut their way, they end up slicing the bloody fuck out of their own meddling fingers.
The communication technology is the genie out of the bottle and that bottle has been shattered into a million tiny pieces.
It it also way too late to nullify the results of this.
Even were a natural event to occur that fried this tech in one long moment of solar electromagnetic energy, propelling humans all over the planet back to stone age subsistence, the knowledges remembered will still be there to ponder, when survival modes can spare the time.
There is no thorough enough means to control the tech of communications.
And, as stated, it's too late, baby, it's just too late....
If it isn't plain by now it should be. The legacy media, both in print, online and on TV are little more than the information wing of the Democrat party. Ever notice how every talking head on TV says almost the exact same thing at exactly the same time? Well, yeah, the party gives the press their script and they read it. The only real journalism is happening in independent outfits doing podcasts on platforms like X and Rumble.
Speaking of real, actual journalism, who else heard that Tucker Carlson is in Moscow to have a sit down with Putin? When that drops its gonna break the internet. I can't wait!!!!

Unfortunately, to keep attracting attention, news outlets have to tell people what they want to hear. The internet has multiplied ideological polarization many times over by encouraging people to seek out "news" outlets whose messages validate their belief systems. The Chicago news media (plural, not singular) are just telling people what they want to hear: something that this place and the Contrarian both benefit from, although to a lesser degree. But, as Delmar said, "Ok, I'm with you fellers."
As I flipped thru the scum times yesterday, my hub still buys it, I was thinking the same thing. Its ghetto, victimhood, pro criminal propaganda. Its laughable.

Sunday Paper? I bought a newspaper every day read it from front to back. That ended early 2000's. I remember when the Chicago Tribune was vilified as the REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE newspaper.
Its a different world.
This is probably the best writing the Contrarian has done. Every word 100 percent accurate. Good work keep it up. Exposing these people is essential. The one that really galls me is the phony hypocrite Stevens. P.S. I would have added Joe Biden but he would be unable to perform the job. He can’t walk, talk, think or even navigate a podium. Has anyone ever seen him write? I’m guessing he has the writing skills of a first grader. Now that I think of it Pelosi probably couldn’t have a speaking role at a Chicago news station. She and Biden would be better suited at the bribery and censorship departments if they had one.
In 1966 I had the Chicago American (Herald) route my third,113st from Michigan to Harvard.in the year I had it it went from 65 deliveries to about 40.It could of been due to poor service,but all 3 of my routes did the same.Newspapers died over 60 years ago.They used to be a way to learn things now they are just a way people of like minds find other like minds to agree with.

During Covid the media was reporting that hate crimes against asian's were up 30% because Trump called it the China virus. The truth is crimes against asian's were robberies and car jacking's the offenders were all black and it had nothing to do with Trump.
Their bias is what killed journalism. Some conservative bought the Baltimore Sun and the left lost it's mind. I hope he turns it around as a lesson to investors. Scumbag 'journalists' and the politicians they slobber over need a foot up their ass on the way out of the door.
The propaganda journalist identified in the above post is a good start, but a long road littered with other local journalistic hacks. On the positive side the printed media does provide suitable ass wipe in a pinch or just reliable absorption paper at the bottom of your bird cage. With regard to the electronic media, well thanks goodness for the channel changer and the reliable off switch. As for the electronic and printed media advertisement, no thank you. To the Editorial Boards - go pound sand.

It gets better. That story appeared in The Tribune at the time and some suburban patch. And then there’s a story on some animal welfare website at the time that basically repeated same facts but also said that he admitted to police that he was in a gang but that the dog was not for dog fighting.

Living on the NW side I read the free Nadig Newspaper "The Reporter." They cover more local news and crime news better then the so-called MSM.

If you have good info on CPS or the CTU and you want it to go to sleep or be given to each of them to give them a head's up to what's coming, these are the four reporters for that. These four might as well be CPS' or the CTU spokespersons.

What's sad is that we live in America in 2024 and you cannot believe a word from the mainstream-press. Not a single word, sound-bite or video clip. Everything that's printed or seen on nightly news has to be double-checked now (and really should be triple-checked). The Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times and Chicago Reader have a far-left agenda and narrative to follow...it's exhausting and unbearable. This goes back decades but was all truly exposed during the Trump Administration and the COVID crisis. Where's the follow-up investigations into the Wuhan lab, the Biden family's deal with Ukraine, Kim Foxx's backroom deal with Jussie Smollet, the shady NGOs profiting from the illegal immigrants and the sex abuse scandals in Chicago's public schools?! Chicago's newspapers are going the way of pagers, automatic seatbelts, bran muffins and coconut water. Good riddance!

The daughter of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar.
Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.
When police tried to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements, officer JoAnn Taylor said.
Biden was later released and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 20.
Sen. Biden’s spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment, calling it a private, family matter.

Cherone's ties to former 45th ward alderman arena actually go back to her time with the defunct DNAinfo, with her coverage of him and the ward was that of an unofficial press secretary.

The responses to this thread, or lack of thereof, demonstrates how selfish, short minded or clueless many Chicago Police officers are. Next to the department, elected officials ,the public and criminals, the media is the most destructive demoralizing force against police in general, and Chicago Police in particular. The local media has destroyed the lives and reputations of many Chicago cops. They have outwardly slandered, lied, and manipulated facts and events to fit their narratives, or those of the law firms and their social justice puppet masters. The media has made capons and cowards out of city hall and police brass. Once the media attacks you- you're guilty, and that's it-game over. Your police bosses and city hall will not back or support you. They will throw you under the bus and to the wolves. Despite these truisms, the lack of response to this EXCELLENT and NECESSARY thread by SCC,has had a weak response response...i.e., comments about a new suburban police chief and other irrelevant nonsense. Sickening.

Speaking of bad journalists/reporters and specifically naming the dirty reporter from the dirty public news outlet WBEZ- Steven Mitchell, aka Chip Mitchell-isn't anyone going to mention the trouble he got into on the Chicago Public School yard a few years ago, regarding a conflict and disturbance he had with school girls at the elementary school, on the playground, in the Shakespeare 014th District around the same time that maniac kid in Michigan killed a bunch of his teen class mates?
