But Groot has cars stationed at a house she isn't using while "teaching"?
- A bullet flew through the front windshield of a Chicago police
vehicle parked in front of former Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s home in Logan
Square overnight.
Two officers were inside the car., providing security for Lightfoot’s house in the 3400 block of West Wrightwood, when a round hit the windshield of their unmarked Ford Explorer around 3:09 a.m. They were not injured. A CPD spokesperson said the officers did not return fire.
In fact, the officers didn’t immediately realize what happened until about ten minutes later. That’s when they found a bullet fragment inside the squad car, according to a CPD spokesperson. An evidence technician went to the scene to recover the bullet.
Okay, we really have to work on training cops nationwide about shots fired:

The ex-mayor has a taxpayer-funded security detail?? Could they perhaps be as accommodating to visitors as the Capitol Police were to the January 6th “insurrectionists”??

A 3:00am shots fired in a neighborhood not constantly experiencing shots fired.
A neighborhood where any loud as shots fired sound would be noticed, especially in the wee hours of the morning.
On a night not bone chillingly cold, with residents bundled up in their snuggly beds.
And, seriously, the two officers did not notice for, what, 10 minutes?
That a bullet had struck their vehicle's windshield, with sufficient force to penetrate said glass?
Just how soundly do these two sleep?
Or were they not within their vehicle?

None of these politicians should have any kind of detail whatsoever. They're not the President of the USA, so fuck 'em. Let them do like the rest of us, fend for themselves.

It took ten minutes after a bullet shatters the windshield for them to figure this out? They had to hear something. And when you hear something and you are the police you don’t sit there you take off and relocate to a safe area to assess the situation.
I would imagine Groot will not be bringing them coffee and muffins, that she baked, anymore.

Interesting. Last summer shot spotter near Sox park recorded more rounds fired than those landing on Sox fans.

Why are tax payers still forking over hundreds of thousands of dollars for Groot and Tiny Dancer’s security detail ? They are no longer employees of the City of Chicago so that means they no longer are entitled to a security detail. What a waste of money. This is almost as wasteful as those pesky illegals from Venezuela.

A US Army infantry company usually has Approx. 150 soldiers assigned. That means that Mayor Conehead, who of course, being a liberal democrat would not serve his county in the military. has a full company of personal bodyguards. With all the killings in Chicago, under his administration, maybe he's not as dumb as he looks and acts.
Isn't Anne B. from 016 still assigned to her?

Hey asswipe , how do you ride someone's coattails who retired in 1988 and had no clout his entire career ? This is a man who made detective on his own back in 1961 and was passed over for Sgt. along with many others who scored a lot higher than a bunch who made Sgt. in the 70's. This is the same retired detective who was killed in the line of duty in 1992 working for the Marshals service, way before his daughter even came on the job! This is the same retired detective who was only able to collect 4 years of a pension he worked 31 and a day for to get 32 which was max at the time ! But for what it's worth I would rather see her get a decent spot, if that's what you call it with those hours and schedule , than another bosses kid ! And we all know that there is a bosses kid club and they do everything to help these so called chosen ones that are riding their parents coattails! So yeah any Gold Star family member should get all the help this corrupt department can spare , and it really isn't much for what they lost !
Civilian here. Lightfoot was incompetent as a mayor and disgusting as a human being, but I suppose I could see a few officers watching her house, especially so soon after her term ended. But there should probably be a time limit on these things. Maybe in a couple of years (or less) when everybody hates Brandon instead of Lightfoot.

I hope we get a new mayor every 4 years so we can all get a cushy detail and nobody is left to answer calls. Maybe even some aldermen can request a police detail to spread the wealth a little more
To the anonymous jag off who wanted to know if Anne B is still assigned to the mayor's detail ~ what do you care?! And she did NOT get the detail "riding her Dad's coattails".
