Again, whoever re-scheduled these events for the same weekend is a Grade A asshole:
- Chicago has a big slate of events this weekend as the summer season begins to wind down.
From the North Side to the South Side, it's going to be a really busy weekend in the city. The Air and Water Show and the Bud Billiken Parade are both returning to Chicago this weekend, among other events.
And the week before the DNC, denying hundreds of Officers any sort of weekend all month. Great job looking out for everyone's well-being.
In honor of this foolishness, we're going to guess at the pre-DNC casualty figures:
- nice weather, but fully staffed. Perhaps 12 dead and 24 wounded?

Market Days, Air and Water show, the parade, makes for a busy weekend, I for one will be at market days desperately looking to meet a guy to be dating, and enjoying the beautiful weather. I wish you all the best and hope you ALL stay safe and do not have any major incidents, which is a huge hope in this city, but stay safe my brothers and sisters in blue.

Department is using limited duty members for DNC. Limited duty are not allowed to work overtime. So they are just burning up these guys limited duty time. What is union doing about this?

Don't believe those polls for a second; the media is pushing these "polls' and stories showing her winning and him losing, it's all a part of their plan to use the media to prop her up, and make her look moderate and presidential. Makes no sense to cancel one persons RDO, then approve someone else's Comp Time. Growing up on the southside in the 60's, my Dad always said " should've never let them start voting". now I understand him completely

They are, motorcycle rides, golf outings, vacations, Juneteenth events, traveling during holiday weekend to party, They are sooooooooooo busy!
I think the issue is limited duty is excluded from being able to get OT, but when the department arbitrarily decides they allow them OT. So it is inconsistent policy by the department. Also it uses up a day of limited duty for the member and they end up going on disability quicker.
Interestingly enough, Conehead couldn’t be bothered to join the community he says means the world to him at Bud Billiken. He was at the Air and Water show instead on Saturday. He could have gone Friday or Sunday but I guess only you don’t get your family days.
