We hadn't heard about these assholes, but then, we never wanted to work a downtown District:
- Any word on the groups in town causing havoc downtown and in the West Loop on mopeds and little 3-wheelers? (This is not the same weekend dirt bike gangs from the burbs). Saw 20-25 of them racing on the sidewalks in the West Loop and through Grant Park the past couple of days. They stopped to spray paint "ACAB" graffiti and ruin bus stops. Look Arab or Hispanic but hard to tell with their masks...but def from out of town as they were using their phones to navigate. I might get reassigned to bikes and am thinking of hitting the medical instead as no one has a plan to deal with these type of protestors
We're getting to the point where we're going to have to rely on citizen vigilantes to administer some...."discipline" to these miscreants. Toss something in the way of their sidewalk riding stupidity and put the boots to them. Crimesha will drop the charges anyway.

There was a group of 20-something male and females driving like a-holes through Grant Park and museum campus on mopeds and dirt bikes with no plates Wednesday night. Saw a lot of them with Lakers and Dodgers jerseys so I assume they're from Cali. These ANTIFA-wannabes then headed west and disappeared into Pilsen. Not sure about our bike units but 001 and 012 are going to have their hands full in a couple of weeks.

During the 2020 riots they used those damn Divy bicycles to skirt around our roadblocks and skirmish lines. Our wooden barricades, bike unit and police helicopter would be pretty much useless against large groups on mopeds and dirt bikes.

The Bike Unit will be called on to box-in any protestors and jump ahead to the next flashpoint...just like they did during the riots of 2020. That unit took the brunt of the police-hatred and had the most IODs during that summer. (Including some losing their eyesight and having permanent hearing loss.) Don't blame coppers who are being forced into that unit to hit the medical instead of being a punching bag on two wheels.
