This might be the most important ruling for the upcoming convention:
A federal judge is expected to hand down a key ruling by early next week in a months-long dispute between City Hall and groups promising a massive protest during Chicago’s upcoming Democratic National Convention.
U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood heard roughly two hours of arguments Monday while considering a request for her intervention in a conflict over where those protesters will be allowed to march during the convention, which begins Aug. 19.
The groups first sought permits back in January to march “within sight and sound” of the United Center over the Israel-Hamas war. On Monday, their attorneys predicted that up to 25,000 people could participate.

The "sight-and-sound" demand by protestors is countered by the "vehicle screening perimeter" being located completely on the opposite side of the UC building and parking lots so delegates will be minimally bothered. It's actually a smart move.
Hopefully, the estimate by lawyers of 25,000 bodies is a gross exaggeration.

For all you boys and girls working this convention……pay attention to the fleabag hotels on your beats? And those across the city lines in the burbs? Most of these protesters are too cheap to buy expensive rooms in loop. So during the NATO fun and games several of us were tasked with filming the cheap hotels the weeks prior to the event….watching the hotel go from empty to loaded up in days. Also the rented school buses that are showing up in the neighborhood to move them to the convention? My spies in Milwaukee tell me they controlled more protesters by disabling the buses to move protesters than the barricades did?
Keep them corralled up that’s what needs to happen, you cannot let terrorists of the urban variety but then again, the terrorists that they have let in through our borders. The administration in Washington has totally allowed are not just urban terrorists. They are professionally trained soldiers to do terrorism, and many of them as we know our stone killers let out of prison sent here because we have no leader ship! Parade route will probably be on the highway.
If they have 25,000 protesters, they can march where they choose.

The Democratic delegates have already done a virtual vote for Harris and she has the votes needed from the Democratic National Convention to be nominated for President. Because of this do Democratic movers and shakers really need to show up in Chicago? Will they curtail their time in Chicago? My bet is a lot of Democratic bigshots will be no shows or will be in and out of the convention in under a day. If there are no Democratic movers and shakers at the convention, there will be minimal national/international news coverage. No national/international news coverage means the protestors will not be able to get their message out so they will not show up or will curtail their activities. Democrats will therefore not be embarrassed. We are seeing a redo of the Biden basement campaign for 2024.

The DNC will be a nothing burger. CPD is well equipped to handle any protests. trained and prepared for this event all throughout last and this year. Bring it on DNC and GOOOOOO Superintendent Snelling! CPD is the best.
Spoiler alert. The judge will side with the democratic machine. Protests will no be permitted.

All of those officers will be reassigned to the Convention.
