Not a Record
But close to one....and far too common nowadays:
- A North Side man was arrested three times in four days for allegedly
threatening and battering people in the Loop and Uptown, culminating
with a violent attack on an 80-year-old man, according to court records.
The documents show that Michael Harris, 30, was arrested on July 19,
July 20, and again on July 22.
Incredibly, a Chicago police report says officers released Harris from custody the first time, even though he was behaving so abnormally that the Cook County Sheriff’s Office refused to admit him to the Leighton Criminal Courthouse for an initial appearance.
Officers don't "release" anyone. That's a supervisory call at the very least and a judge's call most other times. We remember a time when Violation of Bail Bond was an automatic trip to County to see a judge, which at least kept the real assholes off the street for most of the next day.
If the sheriff's wouldn't take him at the Bridge, then he most likely went for a psych evaluation somewhere and a doctor would have to either admit him (necessitating extensive paperwork and phone calls to get him admitted to Cermak Hospital) or a supervisor would RWOC him with a pinkie promise from the hospital to call when he was stabilized....which might happen once-out-of-five times. Usually the hospital just doses the patient and releases him back to the streets when they know they aren't getting paid and there isn't a bed available.
If only he had thrown a root beer at someone important, he'd be sitting in the jail on multiple felony charges.

Attention, numerous witnesses observed chief Hein at Edison Park fest, clearly intoxicated on top of that he was yelling loudly and arguing with someone. More details to follow there may be video. Hein was running around saying do you know who I am? I am number two I am number two!! What an embarrassment.
Please tell me this can be confirmed??? This guy was a goof since day one. He was half decent back in the MSF days but then sold his soul to get merit Lt. after that this arrogant prick has treated everyone (except his alleged merit Lt side piece) like garbage. Not a good look for a chief of patrol….
This is exactly why so many people want too or are moving out of Illinois.
Keep spinning the revolving door. Now, kees me you fool!!!!
Well...
Only thing I can say is....Vote democrat for more.

The documents show that Michael Harris, 30, was arrested on July 19, July 20, and again on July 22. There are a lot of nuts in that Harris clan. Could his auntie be Kamala Coconuts Harris?
You mean a case of root beer
Is the snake shedding it’s a scaly skin?
The same offenders are coming through District lock-ups on a routine basis. They are arrested, cause problems in the lock-up, are taken to the hospital for no good reason besides their demands one or more times (depleting manpower), sent to court, out the next morning and back to the nonsense. The same cycle over and over again.
The city administration has consistently failed its citizens. Consistent failure appears to be Johnson's only success.
So Germany about to announce a knife buy back program.
The German Police Union Cheif wants to address their knife-crime epidemic by offering a year long Netflix subscription if you trade in your knives
Can the victims that followed afterwards sue Dart/CC Sheriff? Can they sue the hospital who cleared him? Because clearly neither wanted to do their jobs. No, instead they’ll sue the Chicago police department- it’s the easiest to railroad.
Was there Friday to see Kashmir, great show, didn't happen to notice any drunken German/ Irish cops clowning...
Do u mean the guy who thinks he’s the mayor of Olmsted street? What a goof
Sheriffs aint your friend. You got a tummy ache? Denied. You stubbed your toe? Denied. You got medical papers saying youre good to go.......Denied.
Incarceration is only for root beer throwers.
There is video and the manner of publication is being discussed
Show time in less than two weeks. Do what's right for you and the family. To hell with everything else.
Don't say that a release is a supervisory call. I once saw two officers
bring a guy into the station that they literally had to wrestle with (he
was cuffed) to get him out of their squad and into the station as I
was arriving for work. After roll call, I saw that same arrestee walking
down the street, apparently released from the station by the two
officers who had brought him in only about 25 minutes ago. I asked
them about it, and they told me that they released him because "he
said he was sorry" about whatever he did that made them arrest him.
When I asked them if they had at least covered their asses by doing
an arrest report and getting the WC to release him without charges,
I could see by the look on their faces that they had not done either
of those things. I couldn't believe two trained police officers could
leave themselves open to a false arrest lawsuit by doing something
so stupid.
