Shrinking Population
Means a shrinking tax base, which we've been noticing here for nearly twenty years:
At the 1920 Census, Chicago’s population was 2.7 million, up over 516,000 in a decade. More than 100 years later, Chicago’s population is 2.66 million, a loss of 128,034 from nine straight years of decline.
Chicago’s population is lower now than it was in 1920, with steady drops in each of the past nine years.
According to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates, Chicago’s population was 2,664,452 in July 2023. Chicago’s population has not been this low in more than 100 years.
Of course, none of this counts the few hundred thousand illegals Conehead and Fata$$ have been stashing around the city.
The trouble with that is they don't own anything of significance that the government can tax....like property.

I know a lot of people planning on leaving. I expect things to get a lot worse.
When the money slows down to where the city can’t function it will be to late.
Illegals ...have nothing.....but a ballot.
“The trouble with that is they don't own anything of significance that the government can tax....like property.”
That's only a problem for taxpayers. The democrats get what they want; higher population numbers to offset the hemorrhaging loss resulting from people voting with their feet. They then simply raise YOUR taxes so you can subsidize the millions of homeless, jobless, illegal immigrants that the democrats have allowed into the country. Welcome to Blue America!
Well...
Only thing I can think of is raising taxes an fees...
More buses of illegals would help, they come to do jobs Americans won't do.
Vote democrat for more.
.
Why don't Gov. Lardass just shit out some money....

They have come for you and ours, that's what hostile invaders do...

Ohhhh, but they can vote, and that they will do!
They just don't get that, do they?
Of course, unless you hear of this from the lame-stream media, they'll label this as "dis-information." Where's the dis-information czar when we need her? I'm sorry. We've lived among people like you for too long.
This city’s population will take a further drop when a few thousand city workers can get out of this dog shit city. That’s going to happen within the next couple of years when all of the guys hired in the 90’s turn 55. See ya👋
Deduct three more in the coming weeks. I am finally out of here! Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ.
You are correct. The new army of illegal aliens that are the replacements for Chicagoans leaving in droves from Murder City. These third world illegals are the new generation of "Give Me's". Those citizens unable to flee, cannot leave or must otherwise stay will foot the bills, as usual. The Springfield Pig, Tony the Goiter and the thuggish mayor have created and maintained this festering problem. It is their plan, and you are paying for it. In all honesty if you vote for a Democrat, you deserve what you get. Remember, the Democrat motto, "Now pay me bitch".
Consider that figure lower by two as of Sept. Buh-bye.
Congratulations, Wife and I are out in two years. Kids went to college out of state and never wanted to come back. We will all be in Kentucky soon.
What is it going to take before things change.?
Nope!
Future pay raises will not becoming as the money isn’t coming in.
City lost a over a million people from its high point.
Illinois - 65.9% Outbound Rate Illinois - 65.9% Outbound Rate
Illinois has been losing people for a couple of years now, and it might have something to do with the economic situation in the state. Unemployment is pretty high at around 4.8%, which is the third worst in the country, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This wouldn't be as big of a problem if taxes weren't so high in the state. Illinois usually ranks toward the top of most lists of states with the highest taxes.

Illinois - 65.9% Outbound Rate
In the past five years, around 157,000 people have migrated out of the state, and many have started calling it the "Illinois exodus." The state is expecting a rise in minimum wage in the coming years, so it's unclear if that same trend will continue.
Lived in Illinois for 63 years (only 4 in Crook County fortunately) and finally moved to Florida 2 years ago. Wished I would have moved after high school but hindsight is always clearer. Any LEOs thinking of moving come on down, we need you and would love to have you working here.
The population will continue to drop as long as Democrat Socialist are running this city.
Fatass and fans playing the long game here. They will eventually own everything at cents on the dollar. Confessions Of An Economic Hitman - John

I can't wait to retire and move my family out of Illinois!
I'm Done in this Liberal Ass backwards State!
Count illegals in the census so the congressional seats are not lost. And you don't lose precious federal monies.
The U.S. population in 1920 was near 105 million people. It’s more than three times that now while Chicago population growth is flat. When a place has flat growth or loss for 50-100 years then chances are the place will continue to decline. Similarly, Dolton had more residents fifty years ago than today.
Meanwhile, how much has the US population increased?

Long but a great watch showing how the head of Border Security is allowing illegals in and he ducks questions.
Sent Kennedy of Louisiana (Not the one running for pres) is awesome. The best part is Mayorkas dancing around the app that illegals can download to make appointments to get in the country.
Ok, makes sense. But what was the Black A American underclass population of Detroit in 1920? IMO it couldn’t t have been even 10% of Detroit ‘s ( my mom s city ) population 100 years ago.
Detroit and other Northern cities and suburbs residents generally had no idea about Black and White race relations back then - this was a purely Southern problem / issue.
In contrast , men like our Abraham Lincoln did have personal interactions with Black ( freedmen Illinois even Southern Illinois was a free state) Americans and did have some sensible views about race relations.
Folks there is no magic dirt.
If Chicago gang bangers, ex HUD high public housing residents moved from the Robert Taylor Homes to Racine WI, or Minneapolis MN - they don t all of a sudden become just like the locals there. It s the same with once safe, Nordic Sweden from the ABBA 1970s - yeah, Liberal, Leftists in 1970s Sweden and Minnesota ( land of 1,000 Liberals) used to have lots of annoying , idiot Liberals back in the days of Hubert Humphrey , but…. They didn t have a lot, didn t have any Opioid narcotic drug dealers like Saint George Floyd, Fentanyl Floyd back then, didn t have Antifa BLM communists looting local Target stores, burning down the Minneapolis central business district.
If anyone here is following current events I England, Ireland and Sweden , you might know Sweden has one of the highest rape rates of any place outside of Sub Sahara Africa and many parts of Malmo Sweden are now Islamic no go zones.
So, these population numbers are of course important, but IMO it’s more important to document specific demographics, class, ethnicity/race, country of origin/ Islam etc.
There is no magic dirt - if we bus Chicago s worst gang banger criminals to no crime Provo Utah ( I m up for doing that) , that world of the Donny and Marie LDS Provo, BYU Utah is going to change , same as Malmo Sweden changed.
The trouble is, they DO get it. The plan is to collapse the economy.
I have a family of six and none of us are staying in Chicago after I retire.
Maxed out - be done with CPD soon. Keeping one foot in Illinois and one out of state. You are forgetting one good thing about Illinois - no tax on the pension.
