COPA Scandal Growing?

CWB isn't a huge media outlet, but they're more on the ball that most others, and they're giving this the coverage it deserves. We'll quote from the middle of the article:

  • The source directed us to two cases COPA recently published on its public case portal.

In April 2023, COPA determined that a Chicago police sergeant unreasonably used “excessive force, akin to deadly force” by putting his knee on the neck of a person he was trying to arrest. COPA’s deputy chief investigator recommended that CPD fire the sergeant or suspend him for 270 days.

Interim CPD Supt. Fred Waller blasted the agency’s findings, saying its investigators “chose not to interview any of the other officers on scene or the civilian witness” to the alleged behavior. In fact, Waller said, the accused sergeant “was the only individual interviewed by COPA, and a proper investigation cannot be completed without statements from the complainant, other Department members on scene, specifically the officers who assisted in placing [the arrestee] into custody, and a civilian witness.”

COPA also failed to secure a sworn affidavit or an affidavit override as required by the CPD police sergeants’ union contract, Waller claimed.

Two months ago, Kersten signed off on a supplemental finding that the allegation of excessive force was “not sustained.” In her memo, Kersten maintained that there was “sufficient evidence to sustain the allegation” but “various factors, including the age of this case, the requirements of the collective bargaining agreement, and the attendant procedural issues in this case significantly reduce the likelihood of success at an evidentiary hearing.”

In February, COPA’s chief investigator recommended a 30-day suspension for another CPD sergeant due to comments she allegedly made about migrants living inside the Albany Park (17th) District police station.

Specifically, the sergeant was accused of telling someone that, if they wanted to help the migrants, they should “pick out one of them, and take it home like they do at the [dog] pound.”

The sergeant vehemently denied the allegations.

These are merely two examples of what Snelling and Catanzara ought to be broadcasting every single day. If the mainstream media won't do it, social media blast it AND locate outlets (like CWB and The Contrarian) who are less biased than anything else out there.

Snelling? Yes. But he won’t because he’s just another puppet in the Big Chair who has to march to the beat of the Fifth Floor Drum.

Cantanzara? No. Because the two cases referenced fall under the purview of the PBPA. Besides, Johnny has his attention and efforts focused his new position with the State FLOP. Oh, wait… this isn’t common knowledge yet?

Unfortunately, the sgt was a problem sergeant in 017. We were glad to see him leave Austin. He had no clue how to do police work! Heck, even his own guys in 189 did not like him! Last time we heard he retired. What a bitter a$&@#%! Good riddance!

Catanzara needs to be voted out posthaste. Failure as a president. We still don’t have a contract by the way. And he can’t get along with anyone.

One has to understand that COPA was created by our very own Marxist Dems and the goal is to depopulate, defund, defang, emasculate and demoralize the ranks of the police department. Look around, very few criminals are ever prosecuted for what they have done to society. This is what our “elected officials” want. Get ready to the new world order.

The days of watching a desk sergeant or watch commander chase some beefer down the stairs out of a police station are long gone. Everything you do is under a microscope now.

This is why COPA or IAD should be disbanded! Both are doing the same job and but both are run by City? They are famous for running concurrent investigation regarding alleged misconduct? Why? They are trying to prove cases where there are no signed affidavits against the officers? Why?
The fact that two independent investigations from COPA and IAD come back with different recommendations shows why we are wasting or time and money shopping for the best outcome in an allegation instead of finding the truth?

Regarding the last Sgt, how could they not interview desk officers present that day? That, right there alone, shows what how completely incompetent and bias they are at investigating anything. They sure made sure they found a witness against the police tho. What a joke they are.

There are far better examples of COPA railroading officers. Desk dolly should’ve known better than to talk down to a migrant to a “COMMUNITY ORGANIZER”.

That Sgt. you don't like has Cancer and isn't doing well. He wasn't disliked in 189 other than by some of the handjob bosses they've had and some of the kiss ass Sgt's who would do anything to get a task force. He did retire.

The Communist, Criminal, Corrupt office of Police Assassinations clock is winding down. Their days are numbered. Gorman from the FOP in one of the newsletters showed how all misconduct investigations are flawed. Where are all the notes from interviews?????? Where are the affidavits????? Where is there timeline and review with Supervisors????? I was at court yesterday for a motion on a Homicide. I was impressed by the notes, sups, and paperwork in chronological order the lead detective took. Look at the mountains of paperwork out of D unit. Look at all copious amount of sup reports and paperwork Homan Square or the FEDs pump out on their cases (yes I know its overkill). COPA has no such requirement, why??????? COPA railroads who they want and lets slide anyone politically connected just like BIA. CPD and all police departments should demand equal and fair treatment.

At this point the only way the NWO goes further is if the voting public is stupid enough to buy Camel Toe's socialist bullshit. If they do, then all bets are off and we will be in uncharted waters as a nation and will result in domestic and foreign turmoil. The past four years will be school lot folly compared to the next term of the national Age of Gloom, darkness and despondency.

The sgt from 017 has been dealing with life threatening medical issues for over a decade. He’s lucky to still be alive. If he was grumpy once in a while, maybe you could use a little empathy and imagine yourself in his shoes. It also still doesn’t mean that copa can do a shitty one sided investigation and then jam you up for something you didn’t to. This time it was him, next time it could easily be you!

Everyone hated BT, in fact he retired under investigation for losing a prisoner and trying to pin it on another Sgt and PO. Nobody in 015, 011, 189 or 017 liked him. He was a Ricco pet and an awful cop. If it weren't for his juice he would have been fired years ago for shooting his gun off drunk in the middle of the street.

Has anyone read the latest decision on copa’s case portal from 019 where they say it’s unlawful to issue a parking ticket to a car if it’s occupied? So if a car is parked in an alley, as was the case, and people are in the car, it’s not against the law. It is absurd. You’ve got to read the decision on the case portal.

If Conservatives stand together and stop watching the overpaid, baby mama beating thug league and DEMAND the ugly instigator apologize and turn it into a What Not To Do on a traffic stop maybe it prevents the eventual shooting of more armed or unarmed young Black Men.
