Scandal Still On-Going
They're hoping to drag it out so long, everyone forgets about it:
- A state watchdog has identified at least $7.2 million in fraudulent claims and more than 275 instances of misconduct by state employees accused of bilking a federal program designed to help businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2022, the Office of the Executive Inspector General has been investigating allegations that state employees fraudulently claimed Paycheck Protection Program loans for small businesses they didn’t disclose or entirely fabricated. State workers may engage in secondary employment, but only if it’s disclosed and permission is granted.
Employees from 13 different state agencies are involved in the fraud and have illegally taken these federal public funds, according to the OEIG, which is charged with investigating allegations of misconduct within state government. As of April, more than 60% of those implicated to date worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services, which operates mental health hospitals and developmental centers across the state.
Still no word on all the exempt members of the CPD who were doing the same thing?

If the City IG isn't holding back on PPP investigations at the behest of feds she should resign as incompetent.
Not just high paid employees should be investigated, but at Least two current elected officials may have some PPP issues.
Will never happen in this Democratic corruption filled shit hole, but we need a department run by Elon Musk’s people like he is planning to do with the federal government to eliminate departments. Eliminate people that don’t belong. These people should be in court and going to prison. It is ridiculous how some people are protected while others who do things that are so minor like the people from the January 6. We can only hope and pray that President Trump revamps the Department of justice and they do the job. They are supposed to be doing lacking up the criminals like these people that stole millions of dollars. Even worse is when it is a copper who enforces the law, but breaks the law to make it more fun. Criminals are criminals, simple as that they belong in prison.

A friend who has a business got one of these loans- it kept him from going under. When he tried to repay it, he had to fight SBA and others to take the money. They acted like, "what do you mean, nobody does that?"
