We were worried that downtown was turning into a $hithole, but it's all good now:
A 19-year-old woman who was shot outside the Loop Macy’s Saturday night may not have been the intended target, according to police reports obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Just before the shooter opened fire in her direction, an altercation between two groups of male teens had occurred, according to a report.
Investigators learned the victim was “not likely the intended target,” the report said.
The assailant, only described as a male teen wearing a gray hoodie, shot her in her leg left, pelvis and right hand just before 9 p.m., when the woman was in a crosswalk outside the Macy’s at 111 N. State St.
Don't worry tourists - if you catch a stray round, it probably wasn't meant for you. Don't let this effect your decision to return to our fair city and spend money.

Well, goshdarnit, thank God that Chicago Police actually caught
the offender and recovered the gun! Glad that all of that worked
out ok. Young woman will survive, and hopefully the juvenile
arrested will get to sit for awhile and contemplate the consequences
of his actions.

Remember the teacher from Orland Park who was caught in crossfire while on the Dan Ryan. She was with her family on the way home from the Sox game when two groups of capones began shooting.
Offenders were eventually taken into custody however in Crimesha’s wisdom no one was charged since she wasn’t the intended target. They were mutual combatants and she just happened to get in the way.

Tell John to sue the city over working conditions if our places of work turn into hotels again that violate every city occupancy ordinance. SCC you should do a piece on all the money wasted by cook county to send prisoners to other countys. 5.5 hrs from the time a southern county arrived to pick up prisoner till the time they left to head 3 hours back so prisoner can see a judge.
