So this happened in New Orleans:
Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Anne Kirkpatrick rode around in a pig-shaped golf cart Saturday at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, video obtained by the Daily Caller shows.
A video shows Kirkpatrick and the driver of the pig-shaped vehicle stopping to interact with festival goers and posing for a photo with a stuffed owl wearing a jersey and sunglasses. The vehicle appears to have the logo of the House of Hogs, a New Orleans-based barbecue team and nonprofit organization that fundraises for grants to develop “Hog Houses,” which offer free accommodations to families at children’s hospitals.
“That’s the chief of police,” someone can be heard saying.
Kirkpatrick’s decision to ride around publicly in a pig-shaped golf cart is curious as “pig” is often a derogatory word for law enforcement used by anti-police activists.
An unqualified embarrassment when she was here, she attempted to threaten the political structure if she wasn't made superintendent. After being laughed out of Chicago, she went to a number of different departments where she ran over a parked motorcycle in Oakland before running over two pedestrians in New Orleans. All before bungling the New Years Day terror attack that left fourteen dead.

I’d like to know if she actually has any street experience. It should be absolutely mandatory for any executive position within a police department. And it should be a minimum of 10 years.
The city must be so proud they were able to pull her away from other departments.

Some police officers make a decision soon after leaving the academy to either do police work, or become a politician. They are very separate career paths. The politician starts networking, and schmoozing at the CHRISTmas parties and large police functions. Golfing, Fishing, Funerals, and even some weddings. Before long, the politician does Zero police work and is concerned only with policy, and promotions. They pursue "merit" promotions and land in some nice positions with absolutely no experience or people skills. Some underhandedly and secretly pay cash. They think everything is legit because they havent done enough police work and do the bidding of whomever helps them get promoted. They write orders on uniform standards, and pursuit policies. The cycle continues...Morale drops considerably, and real police work is diminished. Crime rises.

Civilian here. Do any men join a PD with an aim to become chief or superintendent after a career doing police work? Or do men these days join up just to do police work - little interest in advancement?
I see these chiefs and immediately think of Dirty Harry asking Tyne Daly's character to tell the board about her most important felony arrest (none) or most important misdemeanor arrest (none).
I suspect there are some female chiefs with distinguished careers and all that but these days???

If anyone goes to the CPD Facebook where they honored Officer Preston on the anniversary of her death, there was an exchange where "John Rosco" was talking shit about the deceased officer to her mother. John must have removed his comments but screen shots were taken you piece of shit.
The Dunkin Donuts Day is a big thing in the ‘burbs. I would fall off the ladder climbing up. Most ‘burban cops are legends in their own minds.
