Portland Police Chief Bob Day wiped away tears Friday as he addressed new information showing that two illegal immigrants shot during a federal immigration enforcement encounter had ties to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA).
Day confirmed a Department of Homeland Security statement identifying the two individuals — Luis David Nico Moncada and Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras — as Venezuelan criminal illegal aliens with suspected ties to TdA.
Both were shot by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent after Moncada, the driver of the vehicle, allegedly "weaponized his vehicle" and attempted to run over agents, prompting an agent to fire in self-defense, according to DHS.
"They do have some nexus to involvement with TDA. We can confirm that," Day said, pausing and choking up.
Just so we have this straight - he's crying because the government intelligence was correct about two ILLEGAL ALIEN GANGBANGERS who attempted to MURDER a Federal agent performing a legal and lawful action?
Has he been weeping like this for the other murder, rape, battery and robbery victims of these imported criminals?

“Be the Change” has been an effective law enforcement recruiting tactic for nearly 20 years in almost every major city. Not just in the US, but European cities as well. I saw a UK video of recruits and much like ours- there - 5 foot tall, 100 lb females wearing head coverings and primarily those that looked to have no British ancestry. It’s what democrat run cities want- physically weak people who already enter the job with very progressive politics or pose no threat to the ideology. The job will change a few viewpoints, but as there is less and less hands on policing and no proactive policing, most likely will hang onto to those views, perhaps lean even further left and will be more easily controlled by the politicians. Also, remember- almost nobody becomes a police chief these days by being an actual hard working police officer. They get that job by bending to the will of a mayor.

This spring will be 2 years that I retired from the department. The thought of retirement can be scary and somewhat unknown going forward. My brother's and sisters in blue if having medical coverage is not necessary to retire (your spouse can provide it) then I highly suggest you retire from the toxicity and toxic quality of life the department brings. Trust me when I tell you once you separate from the department it becomes sunshine and rainbows with your family and quality of life. Here's what I believe to be key leading into retirement, accelerate your mortgage payments and get your house paid off therefore the only reason you'll have to work post retirement is out of boredom. Don't stay longer because you want to pay off your kids college they will be fine and it's their debt not saying don't help your kids out but don't let that interfere with you beginning to enjoy life. Be careful out there.
