CWB Alert
We really need a DEFCON type counter to be broadcast live these days:
Large groups of teenage males violently attacked and robbed two women in separate incidents in the Loop this weekend, according to police, sending both victims to hospitals. CPD has now issued a community alert as they work to identify those responsible and prevent additional attacks.
Between 10 and 16 people were involved in each attack, police said, both of which occurred near the corner of Michigan and Roosevelt.
The first woman was attacked around 7:58 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police said the group struck her with their fists and feet and took her phone and jewelry. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital by ambulance, according to a source.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, a similar group carried out what police described as a nearly identical attack in the first block of East Roosevelt Road. That victim took herself to Insight Hospital.
And CWB relays the FACTUAL information about who is doing it:
- Police described the attackers as a group of 10 to 16 Black males approximately 14 to 19 years old, but CPD has not yet released any images of the suspects.
And the Red Line....what a shocker.
