The mother of a man shot and killed by Madison police said Corey Ruiz was an exceptional man who loved his daughter and the rest of his family.
"He was my love. He loved his daughter, he loved his family. He did not deserve to be taken out like that. They took my baby from me," his mother Elsa Ruiz said, breaking down in tears. She said she never imagined she would be burying her son.
The emotional news conference Thursday marked the first time the family has made a public statement since Ruiz, 38, was killed on a busy city street on Wednesday. Police say Ruiz pulled a knife during a struggle with four officers, injuring one of them. That officer then fired the shots, according to police.
Wah wah wah. "He had a family" seems to be a common refrain among these idiots.
You know what else he had?
- Court records show Ruiz had been in and out of jail over the past decade on charges including failing to pay child support, driving a vehicle without consent, jumping bail, threatening authorities, taking a vehicle without consent, possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer and retail theft.
A real hero of the lib-tards there.....and oh yeah....this time he had a knife, wounding an Officer.
You know who never seems to get shot?
- people who DON'T try to stab Police Officers.
- people who DON'T attempt to disarm Police Officers.
- people who DON'T make the effort to run Police Officers over with automobiles

I was in Oshkosh this week and saw the press conference with the police superintendent of Madison.
He let two people take over the press conference, as he and his command staff stood by and did NOTHING!!!

If they raise the medical insurance age it would almost be doing me a favor. Then I wouldn’t have the dilemma to leave or not at 50. I would for sure be gone. No way I’m doing another 8 years just for the insurance.
What they should do though is to push for insurance for the officers that are maxed out. Officers that started younger are essentially getting penalized for it. They’re stuck doing many more years to get that same medical insurance benefit that older officers in their class are already enjoying. Something needs to change there.
It’s a done deal, next contract it’ll be either 29 years on or 57 1/2 years old. We will give up 5 percent instead of the 3 1/2 percent we currently give up. It’s a good deal for the membership and the city. I say why should someone with 30 years on be forced to stay on because they’re not 55 years old and someone with 20 years on will get the medical because they’re 55 years old. It only makes sense.

Try and put a dollar amount not only on real property involved but the continual reminder of being a victim and how that grinds on your life. The chief and his command staff took the best and smartest path available to them. The protestors acted a fool, but no police officers were baited into a bad situation.
