More than 700 employees of Chicago Public Schools were found to have engaged in some form of misconduct within a single year, an analysis of district records shows.
Over the course of four months, WTTW News obtained records that provide a detailed look at how CPS disciplined employees in cases investigated by district staff, outside agencies or the CPS Office of Inspector General.
Between Jan. 3, 2025, and Jan. 6, 2026, Chicago Public Schools sustained misconduct allegations against more than 700 employees, with most cases involving routine workplace violations and dozens involving more serious allegations, including harassment, discrimination and fraud, records show. Among the most serious offenses, 10 employees resigned or were fired after facing allegations of sexual abuse involving a student, and almost two dozen cases overall involved allegations of sexual misconduct or discrimination.
It sure would be interesting to compare those numbers against other City departments, even on a per capita basis. Sure, there would be a lot of low level, SPAR sustained stuff for uniform infractions, court deviations and procedural errors, but we highly doubt any other department would come close to the chomos that CPS covers up for.

Never mind that it's against the law. But now the scab has been ripped off & what's the percentage of students can read, write or even show up???? Start over dump them all & make them pass a test to get re-hired. Police have to be physically fit (unless a Supes. kid can't run or lift any weight) they have to pass a city test & a state test. The CFD has to pass state tests. The teechers don't be needleing to do nuthin but apply. Are there background checks? Fingerprints taken?? Hell security guards have to pass state background checks W/ fingerprints. Even their union president can't follow basic rules like living in town....... or even the same state. Bust the union & make everyone re-apply W/ a simple test that proves they can spell, read, add & even subtract! Nothing difficult like fractions or multi syllable words
I was shocked (or maybe not) to discover, after looking in the city of Chicago Employee Salary Database, that Chicago Library librarians make six-figure salaries! Seriously? Over $100k for that?

My granddaughter graduated from a Chicago Public school. Recently. She cannot read or write cursive and had to take a course in remedial math in order to pass a job test. She has no idea when the Civil War was or even WW2.

The attorney for the sexual abuse victims of Dr. Larry Nassar stated that teachers' unions in general are the biggest facilitators for pedophile teachers in schools. The union will go to any lengths to cover for the teacher and make sure that no mention of said physical or sexual abuse follows if that teacher is actually forced to resign. I would bet that the 10 who were fired or forced to resign for SA are a fraction of those who actually engaging in same.

Kids in private school don’t know any of that info either. I have grandkids just starting high school. They went to 8 years of catholic grade school. Kids today don’t write period. Not just lack of writing cursive. They all have zero faith in big institutions. AI will take care of everything.
Used to be teachers were nice ladies who didn’t talk about their personal lives. I’ve had male teachers that were borderline inappropriate mostly due to losing their temper and the female students would essentially blackmail them for good grades. I had one female teacher who flirted with middle school boys in class and they’d flirt back to skips assignments. Hopefully she never actually pulled the trigger. The only teacher that would overtly talk about their sexual practices was gay. It’s a whole new world out there.
