Slow News Day?

This is "newsworthy" now? Instead of routine?

  • Chicago police shot a dog after it had attacked two people, seriously injuring them, early Sunday morning at a home in North Lawndale on the city’s Southwest Side.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl and a 25-year-old woman were attacked by a dog inside a residence in the 4200 block of West Cullerton Street just after 5:30 a.m. After officers arrived on scene, one fired their gun and hit the dog.

The 15-year-old girl was taken to an area hospital in serious condition with multiple puncture wounds and cuts on her arms, and the 25-year-old woman was also taken to an area hospital in serious condition with puncture wounds to her hands.

And the finishing touch?

  • Police did not provide an update on the condition of the dog....

At least they didn't "report" the race of the dog - that would have been typical of the media.

Are the Officers on Thirty Day Desk Duty now?

The news showed a dog being removed. There was either more than one dog, or somebody "shot at" the dog and missed.

Tribune had a picture of the dog in a cap and gown at his graduation from obedience school. Momma was in tears yapping that he wanted to be a vet but the poleece kilt him. Ben Crump was supposed to be on the way.
