What exactly are we celebrating? The America I knew, the America I loved and held close to my heart is a bygone past. I am 75 years old and have the benefit of hindsight and retrospection. 1. I remember when unions were strong and working people had it good.2. A one working adult in a household paid for all expenses plus vacation plus money left over.
3. Neighbors knew each other and helped each other out. I grew up in Detroit and on our block a fellow neighbor had twins. One born in good health and the other one with a disability. The entire block helped the family out. The job of my three friends and myself was to mow their lawn and shovel the snow. My mom and other ladies cooked meals for them.
Now America was not perfect. If you were a black man or woman then this country was not good to you. We have skeletons in our closet.
As a retired patrolman (yes kiddos, we used to call ourselves patrolman). I must ask, what happened to America? I feel sad for my children and grandchildren.

I'm not a cop. European banks open, I'm on the clock (although it's a light day) Up at four like normal. Worked all days but 4 last year, worked the holidays so others get the day too. You (maybe) get a pension, earn it. I save the extra pay for my retirement.

As a man in his 40's I did not live during your era, but I definitely felt this and related to it!.
Thousands of pounds of gunpowder ignited in one night, no problem! But try to buy a firearm in Chicago to protect your family and home? No way!

That’s what happens when the city stops hosting midnight basketball.
Not to be negative but objectively I'd say were fucked ! So now were left with the 51'st state, that being all this human refuse of illegal immigration that the Left has dumped on us. Criminals, mental patients, cartel gangsters, human garbage with no skills, and worst of all, terrorists.
I worked the Cuban boatlift as an MP back in the day and Castro dumped all his shit on us. He emptied all his jails of thieves, perverts, rapists, scumbags. And that was little over 100,000 while now were stuck with 10 to 20 million because of these fucking Democrats. This is a disaster of epic proportions as Rome is about to burn down thanks to Biden and the leftist assholes.
And Fatass and pinhead put us at the head of the line as "Sanctuaries". Fatass is one of those billionaires who are bored with life so he's taken up playing Game of Thrones with our lives as the serfs and "small people" are squirming under their struggle for "Legacy" and to be next for a Nobel prize taken out of our ass's.
I just read todays Slime Times and lost my breakfast. What an altogether wretched tome, enabled by an altogether wretched Political movement. A real slimy bunch of creatures birthed out the ass. We all know Chicago has zero leader ship. Years ago (actually a lot of years ago) when I was in Austin a guy was shooting a shotgun off in an alley. He had a misfire. He pointed the barrel towards his head in an apparent attempt to see what happened and guess what happened? Clear cut winner of the Darwin Award for that night.
