It's good to make sergeant, the money is better and ¾ of an hour a day is an extra $30+ a day. If its such a shit job, why do so many people apply for it?

My question is, if we're salaried employees, and not hourly employees, why should we have to swipe a timeclock in the first place. Is it to verify we're actually at work? The D-Division is so under manpowered that you can’t say that the OT budget is high. Actually, the patrol division is too. We are so short on P/Os and Dicks citywide. Show me your numbers… Anyone of us can see that the sworn-officer’s manpower numbers are low. I just can’t agree that the smaller numbers in personnel are working more OT hours that exceed the OT that was made back several years ago when manpower was high and OT was easier to do.

What is so hard about working 8 and 1/2 hours a day and getting paid 60,000 plus.....if anyone thinks it sucks, go out into the real work world and see how much money u can make with little or no college,even if u have a bachelors degree,the job market right now is not good.Do your 8--8--1/2 swipe in,out,under,over, who cares!! there are many other issues on this job that we can all agree to agree on..stay safe and if u don't like this job.....QUIT!!!!!

Basically, we have to swipe in only. Civilian employees must swipe in and out. I believe the reason everyone is swiping is so the powers that be KNOW that someone is actually at work. That way when the beef comes in that someone is double-dipping (working their security gig while on the city's dime), they can indict you.
