Hooray! The Circus is Back!

Here we go again with the outrage and the blame game and the "my child would never..." bullshit. You know what? Scream people. Scream all you want. Scream to the highest mountains and rooftops and broadcast it all over the world. Because you know what? We are 100% correct on this one. We are better than 100% correct and the only reason we don't say 110% is because people who say 110% are morons who don't understand that you cannot possess 110% of anything. When you say that, you sound like a moron.

But we (the Chicago Police Department) are so completely on the right side of this issue that every news story that gets published and every TV bit that gets aired only serves to drive more and more people to our side of the story. Some of them may even turn Republican when they see how the idiots in the 'hood and the media mopes give them a platform to spout their obviously twisted and, yes, racist rhetoric.

For god's sake, where do people think these kids get the idea that they can do stickups with a BB gun from? The parenting (or lack of parenting in this case) is the key. And the 40+ years of cradle to grave welfare and no personal responsibility and no pride of actually being a contributing member of society (instead of a leech) have destroyed an entire segment of society. Continuing coverage at Channel 2, Channel 5, Channel 7, Sun Times, and Tribune

Keep screaming folks. We've been stopped by half a dozen citizens already today who said they supported the police 100% in this incident (and one mope who said 110%, but we didn't correct him as we appreciated his thought). Sometimes, your only purpose in life is to show everyone else how not to fuck up. Welcome to your purpose in life Ellis Woodland.

These people are pissing me off. If you have a BB Gun, I-Pod, anything and a COP tells you to drop it, drop the damn thing and get your hands up in the air!!!!

Besides, any juvenile with a damn BB gun should be monitored by the parents and/or the parents should be around.

These parents just do not give a damn and think it's more important to sit on their ass drinking a Pabst Blue Ribbon and watching tv.

What I find funny is that this will continue to get more coverage than the teen beating in Beverly.

Let's take a look here: One boy walking to the park and get's beat for no reason other than "he looked like a goofy white boy" and another who already attempted to rob someone with a gun (bb or not).

I can not stand every single media outlet in this city.

I just wanted to say thank you phil for finally sticking up for your troops. You get slammed all the time for the bad stuff you do and the way you usually hang us out to dry and it was finally nice to see you stick up for us the way you should... as our leader.

Off Topic:

Exonerated man won't see a dime

A man who spent 27 years in prison before DNA exonerated him will not see a dime from the city.

A jury on Tuesday did not find in favor of any claims brought by Michael Evans in a suit against Chicago cops.

Evans accused officers of falsifying evidence, coaching witnesses and failing to disclose favorable evidence in the kidnapping, rape and murder of 9-year-old Lisa Cabassa in 1976. He sought about $60 million in all.

The Evans case could be viewed as a test case for wrongful conviction civil lawsuits brought against the city. Four other suits filed by pardoned Death Row inmates are pending in the Chicago courthouse.

Settlement negotiations had been under way since last year.

HOPEFULLY A SIGN THAT THE TIDES ARE CHANGING!!!

Okay, this is rediculus, this is completely rediculus.

Okay.. one, the kid's father is a 'high ranking gang members - according to police' so the child is probably following in dad's footsteps.
two, the kid was running around with a weapon in his wasteband, along with a friend, who also had a weapon.
three, the cops responded to a call of someone being robbed at gunpoint, and found the kids and told them to put their hands up, the kid came out with a weapon, even if his intention was to bring it up to the sky with his hands, that was not smart for the gun would have gone straight towards the officer, a justified shoot for the cop.
I like how, in the news, the relatives were saying that 'he was putting the gun down when he got shot' - THEY WEREN'T THERE!
Interviews with witnesses confirmed the two officers accounts on what happened, those were people that were there, but the family is saying stories like they were doing a ride-along with the cops!

I just love how one incident can be blown into a giant fiasco because of the age of someone. The kid was out to do harm to others, he paid the price of confronting the police, with a gun. If he was a 'straight A - B student' than why was he running around robbing people with a BB gun (still a GUN.)

The cops were justified, no matter what the family says about what the kid has done in the past, how he was such a great kid, well this time he was caught being a not-so-great kid, and, even though it hurts to see a child shot, he paid the price.
It was a matter of time though, if he was running around doing this to people he was bound to come across someone with a real gun to fight back, it could be alot worse than getting shot in the leg and arm by the police.

I had to vent there.. Sorry.

I like how an idiot on the news said "they is trained on knowing the difference between a real gun and a fake one.." umm..yeah ok, like we are supposed to be like, "Excuse me sir, may I see that gun you are holding (which looks real while it's being pointed at you) so I can determine if it is a BB gun" Get real!!! Point a gun of any sort expect to get shot, it's a matter of survival, not oh he's 14, I should let him point a gun at me...these people are really unbelievable

Maybe if the parents dropped the "not my kid" mentality this kind of shit wouldn't happen. Turn a blind eye to what your kid does...don't be surprised when s/he's a damned robber/murderer.

Just the other day a P/O had to assist a parent into a station because her "wonderful" children were locked up for theft, robbery, one of the two. Police get there & need the arresting unit to CONFIRM ON THE RADIO the names of the arrestees because it can't POSsibly be her kids.

They were. They'd been arrested beFORE.

Next thing you know they'll be pointing bb guns at the police & justifiably getting shot. Guess they won't be her kids then, either.

I was watching the news yesterday afternoon. One of the protesters was decrying the fact that the developers were moving in and destroying their culture- the culture of Cabrini Green.

I guess poverty, filth, dirt, drug sales, murder, and rape are a cultural phenomonen.

Even the Mayoyr, who encouraged us to pray for this misguided child, stated that you do not point a weapon at the Police. I will pray for the little fellow. I will pray that he gets an infection from his colostomy and dies.

Thought that it was interesting that the manufacturer of the BB gun said that they make them look like a real gun because they are real guns. They can do a lot of physical damage to a person if shot by one of its projectiles. The spokesperson said that an officer even if he knows that it is a BB gun should consider it a real gun because of the amount of damage that can be done.

Suddenly 2 carloads of gangbangers swing right in front of us. We couldn't tell if it was bumper tag or was to be a car-on-car drive by.
We are right behind them but they have'nt seen us yet. Just then, they both screech to a halt at a stop sign & out of the second car bails a kid with an UZI, running around his car & toward the other car to shoot into it. We both jump out yelling "Police! Freeze or we'll shoot!" Fortunately for both us and the kid, he freezes & yells back to us that "It's a squirt gun!" "FINE- Drop it NOW!" He did.
Then we see the kids in the "Intended victim" car getting out smiling and laughing it up.
It was the best looking replica firearm that I ever saw.
The "shooter" was 15. It was in a very hot area. Every time this type of thing happens, I think of how lucky we were. If that kid had swung the "gun" around toward us,
we would have been front page. He would be in the Obits.

No one should be surprise that the family is raising a rukus, no one should be surprise that the protesters were members of the gang that is prevalent in that neighborhood, no one should be surprise that political opportunists and self annointed activists and ambulances chasing lawyers are there in large numbers.
But some of us seem to have forgotten or omitted that "NOT" all of the people over there are subscribing to this nonsense, that there are witnesses from this same area, who back the police version of what happen, that victims who where first accousted by these guys, hasn't change their stories to fit the rhetorics of the family and other loud mouth. Police shooting, any type will be sensationalized in the media, always have, always will. Don't fall prey to the loud and misguided vocal groups, they truely only represent themselves

Correction, his bladder was removed and he will have a urostomy, not a colostomy. Either way, both tend to leak and cause skin problems, and need constant care and changing. Urostomies leak more, suppose you can guess why. Our tax dollars will certainly take care of all of this.

This is simple....you point ANYTHING at the Police, whether it be a gun, a knife, any object that can harm another person, that Officer has the DUTY to those in the immediate surroundings to pull / discharge their weapon.

I'm not the Police, but have enough common sense to understand that the Officers are right in this case.

If i'm not mistaken, there have been other CPD weapon discharge incidents in Chicago this year, and the Officer(s) were found to have followed every departmental regulation and state law.

It is always unfortunate when a Police Officer has to shoot a person, but the Officer doesn't always have a choice.

Every one of you at the CPD are cared for and loved greatly!
