Officer Injured
Call us naive, but shouldn't the charge be "Heinous Battery?"
A 17-year-old was charged with throwing a cup of bleach at a Chicago Police officer and another person with whom she was fighting on the West Side on Wednesday morning.
Juanita Bridges, of the 2300 block of West Washington Boulevard, was charged with aggravated battery of a police officer and battery, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. Bridges was slated for an Aug. 16 court date in North Felony Court, he added.
Thank goodness she didn't have a gun or the police may have shot her! As it is, the officer could have suffered permanent damage to his eyesight and be unable to perform in his chosen career anymore. Any marches planned for him?
We didn't think so.

Oh geez...
I hope the PO is going to be okay and there isn't any permanent damage to his eye.
Be Safe everyone!
Hey Second City great job with the new format.
I don't know the particulars with regard to the incident you are reporting but perhaps the reason Heinous Battery was not charged is because to charge Heinous Battery one must cause severe and permanent disability, great bodily harm or disfigurement. Simply using a caustic substance does not substantiate the charge. Hopefully the officer was not injured badly enough to substantiate this charge.
(720 ILCS 5/12‑4.1) (from Ch. 38, par. 12‑4.1)
Sec. 12‑4.1. Heinous Battery.
(a) A person who, in committing a battery, knowingly causes severe and permanent disability, great bodily harm or disfigurement by means of a caustic or flammable substance, a poisonous gas, a deadly biological or chemical contaminant or agent, a radioactive substance, or a bomb or explosive compound commits heinous battery.
OK. Get her address and I will find the rudest, laziest, coppers I can find, call the media, and organize a protest in front of her home. I will get the signs made and rent the busses.
We will find his mother, his altar boy picture, and claim he was the class commander in the academy. AHHH, SCC, we will need a spokesman. Will you volunteer?
I think we should outlaw bleach!
You have to register all containers of Clorox you purchase,
after your 3 day background check.
It's been proven time and time again that it could be injurious to your eyesight and fatal if swallowed.
PS Wishing a speedy recovery to the officer involved.
And you know the slimey states attorney only approved a misdameanor. great job to all the bosses that didnt do shit about it.
Balless asshats
Hey if Blogos campian is so hell bent on saying Judy thinks a rolloing pin is an assault weapon why cant bleach be an assaullt weapon.
Blogo neeeds to hire some new writers thats about the most childish claim I have ever seen in a campain ad.
But you gota love the expression on Judys face. Classic.
Hey Leftisthebest, in light of the recent terror plot in Great Britian, looks like OUR President is on the right track. And before you go of and spout the usual Democraptic nonsense about how we had nothing to do with this discovery, remember this. We and Great Britian as well as others are all on the same team in the GWOT, so when one does well, we ALL do well. Plus, IIRC, Great Britian was supplied with some information that WE came across via satellite intercepts of phone calls the terrorists were making.
So while I know you and your kind won't admit it, this was a BIG win by OUR President and those engaged in the GWOT.
So I say God Bless OUR President and everybody else fighting the good fight in the warror on terror. And thank God he's in charge. Had the other guy or anybody from his party (Democraps) won, we would have, as we speak, right now, thousands of DEAD AMERICANS and several airplanes at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hope the officer is ok! I was sent to the Cabrini-Green protest march to city hall on Thursday and really enjoyed the signs the protesters were holding. My favorite was the large sign that read "The Chicago Police are Tourists" The maker of the sign was calling us "terrorists" verbally, but should have opened a dictionary when trying to spell the word. Then again he may not even know what a dictionary is.
LMAO!!
That is priceless.
Too bad there wasn't a picture of that in the newspaper.
FYI
ASA's don't have to "approve" misd charges.
Hope the PO is OK
signed,
an old dic
