Amazing. You'd think that at the very least, someone from the Mayor's Board - whoops - we mean the City Board of Licensing had something to say? Or someone responsible. You don't just cram 5 times the occupancy of a building into a location and not be paying someone off.

The Jesse Jackson family clout saw to this fiasco. They influenced this entire E2 disaster. When this first broke it was leaked that the Jackson family had made calls to the Licensing unit to stall the investigations into that place and suddenly it was hushed up and now these two scumbags are aquitted? Amazing, if these guys went down I'm sure they would've taken the Jacksons down with them. What a crock o shit. None of those people deserved that fate. Since there is a lessor burden of proof in civil court I hope the families sue these guys Balls off!!
I can't believe this. I love this blog, and, I admit, I'm a little drunk, so maybe I misunderstand. The people responsible are the morons who rushed out and killed their fellow partiers. I was there for the rush, I was there when jesse jackson (non capitalization intentional) showed up and tossed his keys to the liuetenant on-scene and said "watch the car." It was a cluster, yes. but no more so than others. the situation was caused by the people there. Not the owners of the bar.

The E/2 nightclub deaths are the cities fault. Those off-duty rent-a-guns should be held liable. There should be a ban on off-duty security jobs.

It was not a jury but a directed verdict of a Judge Dennis Porter that acquitted the three defendants. Which proves that Cook County Judges and A.S.A.s are the worst in the nation besides L.A.
On recalling the night of the disaster.
The scene outside of the E-2 was as much total chaos as the inside. Home-boys were dragging other home-boys and dumping them into ambulances where the paramedics were doing C.P.R. on victims.
Very little control on the street for a long time. Cops standing around not knowing what to do. God help us if we have another scene, maybe a terrorist attack and have hundreds killed and injured. We know something like that is coming and we are not trained or equipped to handle it.
RESPOSIBLE?????
ANYONE THAT KNOW THE LAW KNOWS THAT CASE WAS LOST FROM THE START.

Judge Porter is a decent hardworking judge who isn't afraid to make a tough call. He is pro police. He presided over the trial of the killers of P.O. Michael Ceriale. E2 was an easy call. He got it right on E2. This is a civil matter. There is no criminal liability whatsoever. All the families of these rats who died will get compensated in civil court where everyone will recognize all these future Harvard grads died too soon (LMAO) The club was cited in housing court for numerous violations and ignored the court's orders. Its not the police or city's fault either.
I've had cases before Judge Porter for years; I've always found him to be one of the least pretentious, fair minded judges on the bench. I think Porter was right. No criminal intent here.
It is strictly a civil matter.
Yea it is cRook Cty, but lets not insult the county Police guys, they re working for the same lying thieves we work for. They are getting shot, sued , indicted just like we are.....

TO THOSE OF YOU, WHO WANT TO BLAME SOMEONE. THE REAL TRUTH, IS THAT THE E-2 HAD BEEN CITED FOR NUMEROUS BUILDING CODE VIOLATIONS, AND SHOULD HAD BEEN CLOSED DOWN YEARS AGO, BUT AS USUAL GHETTO POLITICS KICKED, AND THE FORMER IDIOT F-1 DISTRICT COMMANDER FROM 021 (RELATED TO STROGER) AND WHO COULD NOT FIND HER ASS IN A HOLE IN THE GROUND IF HER LIFE DEPENDED ON IT STEPPED IN AND PREVENTED THE E-2 FROM CLOSING. SO IN REALITY IT WAS THE CITY AND CPD FAILURE TO ACT THAT CAUSED THE DISASTER. IN THE 025 DISTRICT ABOUT SIX YEARS AGO A NIGHTCLUB OPENED UP THAT CATERED TO GANGBANGERS AND SHITBIRDS. RETIRED D/C TOM WALTON ACTED FAST AND ORDERED HIS TROOPS TO LOCK UP THE SHITBIRDS AND HAD CITY INSPECTORS THERE EVERY DAY WRITING UP EVERY VIOLATION. THE TRANSLATION RESULTED IN THE CLUB CLOSING DOWN IN LESS THAN A MONTH.
