Back to Work

Well, as we didn't buy lottery tickets in either Georgia or New Jersey, it looks like we'll be headed to work with only visions of eventually winning enough money to one day quit to keep us warm. Oh well.

As a side note, we noticed in some of the comment sections people telling us that we are appearing sporadically on Department computers. Either the filter isn't holding or someone downtown is removing the filter on occasion to check us out and then putting it back in place before someone discovers it.

In the meantime, open post people.

Just checked out the "official Blog of the Chicago Police" Checkerboard Shit. Was reading a couple of their "attaboy" stories and thought to myself "I wonder if these PO's know their names are plastered all over this public website. I mean I believe in recognition where it is due, but to list every officer involved in a certain case even to go so far as to state what their duties were (i.e. enforcement officer, surveilance, supervisor, etc.) is crazy. I was reading the story of the dope dealer busted and how they recovered millions of dollars worth of dope and money and thought, damn, if the dealer wanted to take revenge (god forbid) he has access to everyones names involved. Thanks checkerboard shit for thinking about officer safety.

WOW!!! It's 8 Mar and I just called the FOP "hot line" to keep up to date on all the "HOT" issues. The current message is dated 7 FEB. WHAT THE FUCK!!! Its particularly funny to hear our President urging us to go vote. Its gratifying to know that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has happened in over 4 weeks. I guess they're just not getting paid enough to devote any time to their JOBS.

Hang onto your wallets and look at your medical and dental bills.

A new method Daley is using to fund his visions at our expense has been quietly cropping in our medical and dental bills.

Routine procedures, such as dental crowns, are being denied by the city's dental benefits administrators. They are refusing to pay for work that you and your dentist have agreed upon leaving you with the entire bill. To prove that the work was needed causes means that doctors or dentist has to rebill, with more pictures, x-rays and spend a long time away from patients on the phone with the clerks from the administrators. If the clerks say no, and they likely will, you are left with the enire bill.

It would not be the first time that many good U.S. schooled dentists left the city plan.

Some people just dont learn:

NEW ORLEANS - A National Guardsman shot and killed a man who threw a piece of broken glass at a group on patrol and later pointed a BB gun that officers mistook for a rifle, police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting, but the guardsman, whose name was not released, appears to have acted appropriately, said Sgt. Joe Narcisse, a police spokesman.

The National Guard members saw the man at about 1 a.m. holding a hacksaw while riding a bicycle through an area that remains largely vacant since Hurricane Katrina. The Guard has been patrolling less populated areas of the city since June to allow the depleted police force to concentrate on areas where people have returned since the hurricane.

“As the guardsmen approached the man, he produced a knife, threatening the military men and then threw a piece of broken glass at them, cutting a sergeant’s arm,” Narcisse said in a news release.

The man ran into a rundown house, he said. When police and guardsmen entered the house and approached the man, he pointed a BB gun that looked like a rifle at them. A Guardsman shot the man several times, police said.

We should be allowed to take the money the City pays for that shit dental plan they have and pay us instead! Hell, I paid most of my Dental Bills out of my own pocket! It's so bad that Dental offices cringe when you give them that stupid Dental card. Because they know it is a garbage plan and make you pay up front! So what in the hell does Compdent pay for? Nothing as far as I'm concerned but they get a whole ton of money while dening City employees dental claims!

Hey SCC, you should put up a thread so that we can hear what kinds of problems that we are having with getting benefits paid by the City.

I know for a fact for example: that the City took 8 months to pay their Tuition reimbursement bills. Another problem is our piss poor Dental Program which basically pays for nothing important! I had to shell out $3,000 for Dental work and our worthless Dental plan did NOT pay a red cent but yet grabs our premiums and probably has flower pots in front of their HQ. What do you think?

Good stuff to know just in time for our upcoming Contract negotiations to air out the problems that the regular Police Officers has everyday and then the brass wants to know why Morale is in the shitter!!

WOW!!! It's 8 Mar and I just called the FOP "hot line" to keep up to date on all the "HOT" issues.

What did you expect. For twenty five years the only thing the FOP has accomplished is to steal our money to fund golf outings, cars, enriching lawyers, and free beer. We have been conned and everyone just does not care. We have lost medical/dental benefits, have received below market pay raises and contiuing increases in benefit costs. Oh, and don't even think about filing a grievance for anything serious. They will tell you there is nothing they can do or gee, that boss is a friend of ours.

Screw FOP. Find a real union and if you want to join a fraternal group try the Moose, Elks, or VFW.

The F.O.P should update us once a week with the "HOT" issues. What would that take? A 3 minute recorded message?

WHY DO ALL OFFICERS THINK THAT IF THEY ARE MAKING ARREST AND APPEARING IN COURT THEIR INFO IS SECRET. 1ST AND LAST NAME WEAR YOU WORK AND HOW LONG. HELL IF YOU ARE IN A CIVIL CASE WITH THE CITY THEY GIVE AWAY YOUR CREDIT REPORT. SO FELLAS QUIT THINKING NO ONE CAN FIND YOU YOU WORK FOR THE CITY NOT THE CIA.
