New Banned Words
The following words are hereby banned from the blog:
- P-shades
- Purple shades
- PURPLE SHADES
- P-Shady
- P-Diddy-Shady
- anything associating Purple Shades with TRU
- any variations of the above
This follows on the heels of the banning of any comments containing the "three letter spanish exclamation," DELETE, anything to do with dining on female posteriors, Scotchbreath, the B-team (though we've let a few in lately), Area 2 gun teams, Area 1 or 2 detectives of either sex, and half a dozen other things we can't recall at the moment.
It was amusing the first three hundred eighty seven times. But at three hundred eighty eight, we just lost our sense of humor.

Off the topic but can someone answer a question about tasers? I recently spoke with a Sergeant who did not carry a taser and was told it was optional. I thought it was mandatory to carry the taser weapon.
How did Seiser do in the election, I was out of town and did'nt see the results.

NO, carrying a tazer isn't mandatory. Supervisors are ENCOURAGED to obtain certification for the tazer, and to carry it. But far too many supervisors go without it. I always carry one on me when I'm on the street, but lots of other Sgts. don't. And why don't field Lts. carry them also? And how about the W/C when he goes out on the street to tour the DOC, or when he/she responds to serious incidents? Far too many of them sit on shelves either in the radio room or in the W/C's closet.

As a fan of his, I am disappointed that he won't be mentioned on the blog anymore. "PS" was one of the few coppers who actually told people off respectfully AND signed his real name. Liked the guy's style.

What about all the 2yr and a day primadonnas in 009 who cry and beg their way on days, then act all hard like they actually have worked for a living. Go to afternoons or midnights and earn your keep for a few years before you act all hard............pathetic!!

Good call SCC. Having worked with his retired dad on tac in 6, it sounds like the apple didn't fall far from the tree, if he is half the cop his dad was, then he is the REAl police.

If you're justified in using the tazer, whatever happens to the bad guy, it won't affect your chance of promotion. I recall a lt. who killed two people during the Puerto Rican festival many years ago. He eventually made Capt., and later, Commander. The whole thing started a very ugly riot that was difficult to put down, but no one ever said the Lt. wasn't justified.
