that is the excuse he is using to try and sell midway, and next he will be selling advertising space on squad car roofs like they have on the cabs! he is mismanaging this city so bad him and his crew of dana levenson, and watch your paychecks as framk wilson head of police finance has screwed many coppers on holiday pay and not giving step raises when do, and at least 30+ dog handlers that were to get d-2 are still paying paid at d-1 rate for over 8 months and counting! daley=disaster!

About twenty-five years ago, when the Lotto was the only game, it hit on all the multiples of "7".
That is 7-14-21-28-35-42. Well this one old lock-up keeper in a southsdie district held the winnning ticket. So he goes on a rant in the station and M-Fs everybody especially the bosses. Throws down his star and walks out of the station to go shopping for a new car.
The next day, he finds out that there were almost twenty winning tickets, and his take was going to be a flat $17,000 or so. Nice, but not enough to retire on. He had to go back, tail between his legs and beg forgivness and for his job back.

An old-timer, who is now retired, and I am now an old-timer, had a plan to buy a spot as the District Commander, in 2,7, or 11 and then use that power to transfer in every asshole he ever had to put up with, by management spots, for just 6 months. Hey SCC, looks like your guy Guiliani is in the news again. Seems his kids don't talk to him much, since he left their mother after his very public affair with his current (3rd) wife. I'd have to say at this point, when this aspect of his life comes under a bigger microscope as we get closer to picking Presidential candidates, that he will turn off huge numbers of women voters, and let's not forget those conservative Christian types. Looks like Rudy's Prez. aspirations have just about tanked at this point. Better start looking around again, Repubs....

Morale is LOW , have not been on the job long ( 7 years ) but have seen some better days. I work in a district where the Capt. and Lt. are good guys, they give time when you need it. The troops don't mind working for them. BUT we have some real strokes as sgt's, some of them are good people, but a few just need to get a life. example...at a roll call one of the sgt's read off activity, and then when some people don't have enough tickets to his standards, he tells the roll call to " F-OFF". What the hell is that ? Oh yah, let me run out and write some tickets ! I hope he retires soon ( not going to happen). Tickets? This is not my fathers police dept. ANYMORE !
