- Chicago police shut down a major drug operation growing inside a warehouse on a busy West Side street.
CBS 2 [...] reports it was a foul odor that led Chicago police officers to the warehouse on Armitage Avenue, near Cicero Avenue.
"We were able to pinpoint where the foul odor was coming from at which time we called for canine," said Officer Brian Ustaszewski of the Chicago police.
A huge hydro lab - right in the heart of the city. Has anyone else noticed an up-tick in all sorts of clandestine labs across the city? Shroom labs, hydro labs, etc? Watch yourselves around this crap. Tons of it is caustic and even more of it might be explosive under the right conditions.

You know, after watching the interview with the officers and commander, I couldn't help but notice how well spoken and intelligent they all sounded.

You know guys some things like this just happen. One time I was looking for a subject with a gun, observed two M/1's matching the description run into a house. I pursued them into the house and was overcome by the sweet smell of WEED. Further investigation revealed the guys had their little hydro lab in the basement, complete with heat lamps. Got a couple of guns out of that deal as well. Keep up the excellent work boys!!!!

.................................................................................any electronics experts here? It is an urban myth that radios and cell phones can trigger an explosion through spark. The friction of your cloths and shoes on floor is more of a risk soooo if you encounter a hazzard the just get the hell out of area

Hes not talking about 'spark' from a cell phone, he is speaking of the radio waves that can trigger an explosive device if its detonator is also a cell phone. He learned it in TARA training and it IS useful if its an IED.
