Finally, Fred
- At 7:57 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, while taping "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" for broadcast later in the evening, Fred Thompson finally said: "I'm running for president of the United States."
The studio audience responded with thunderous applause.
Thompson rejected the notion that he has waited too long to get into the race for the White House.
"People treat politicians sort of like the dentist -- they don't have anything to do with them till they have to," he said.
Now we'll see if Fred can run a halfway decent campaign and shake things up a bit. He's been the man in the shadows for quite a while in the current election season.

Strangely we can ask remember Vince Foster one of many that died strangely during billy clintons tenure, he was found with a single gunshot to the head yet no residue on his hands but it was a self inflicted wound,and the case closed quickly! will hsu be found floating in a river, and we will be told "he went for a swim 8 miles out and drowned? with the clintons anything is possible!
