Dead Tree Media Fading
- Circulation fell 2.6% at major U.S. daily newspapers in the six months ending in September, according to figures released Monday, the latest decline as readers continue to migrate to the Internet for news, information and entertainment.
The Tribune was down 2.9% and this humorous tidbit:
- The Chicago Sun-Times again did not report circulation figures, following its censure in 2004 for misstating circulation figures.
A bit of good news - SCC readership is up almost 80% from one year ago. We've gone from 2,400 visits a day to well over 4,000 on a regular basis, most days near 5,000 (the weekend brings down the average). So thanks for that readers.

Guarenteed! If the CTA bus video footage shows the police alledgedly using excessive force, the dvd will be immediately used to go after the police. Now, if the dvd shows the police are totally in the right, the dvd will mysteriously either vanish or it will be suspiciously unviewable. Just you watch. It happens all the time.
Despite all the rumors and hurtful comments people post abot their coworkers, this is the only source I get my news from nowadays. SCC I would rather hear it from your mouth and the mouths of your readers than from any news source in this city.

I saw that report and wondered why the Suntimes was not on it. I guess when you columnist lie on a daily basis there is no reason to report your number of readers.
If as Roeper says, the paper is going through some changes.....why not make those changes TRUTH AND FAIRNESS???
the main stream media shot it's self in the foot with biased coverage. i would not even use the sun times, usa today or time magazine for toilet paper.

Your average goes down on the weekends because the political hacks who scour these pages daily at 35th and Michigan are off weekends.
