Since out of control bars seem to be your new specialty - especially connected out of control bars:
- Woman shot, man stabbed in fight at nightclub - A Chicago woman was shot and a Riverdale man was stabbed early Sunday after a South Loop nightclub fight that spilled into the street, police said.
The woman, 18, was in Chicago Legends, 2109 S. Wabash Ave., about 1:45 a.m. Sunday when the fight broke out, Officer Amina Greer said. It was unknown what started the fight, she said. - In January 2006, a Chicago man was shot to death at Chicago Legends after quarreling with another man on the dance floor. In February 2004, a South Holland man was badly beaten after he fought with two men who were flirting with his wife. A Melrose Park man who came to the man's aid was shot in the thigh.
Seems like another problem joint, like Chromium was. Here's how MetroMix.com describes the bar:

Hmmmm. The "25-and-over after -work crowd." And an 18 year old woman gets shot after stepping out of the bar. Anyone see a few license violations here? Anyone want to bet that nothing happens unless Goudie and his I-Team start poking around? After all, no one has to follow the rules if you pay the right people. Rules are for lesser mortals, like unconnected cops and poor taxpaying schmoes.

Hey Goudie investigate the coruption at Chicago's airports.
Yesterday, I was reading the reader feedback on this story and someone said that this is a "stepping" club so the author believed that an 18 yo could be in there.
A bar is a bar and 18 yo's are not allowed.

Used to work in 001 and believe it or not, Legends really was never a big problem. Most of the time it was as described, an older somewhat respectable crowd. The only time there was ever really a problem was when they rented out to a private party. Now E2 and the Cotton Club, those were the problems.
It won't be touched because it isn't a white bar.
There are 2 sets of rules.

Thus, creating a safe haven for them and the priest who defies rules set up by the Vatican. How many years has he been at the throne of that Church? Longer than any other Priest in the country and he refuses to leave!MUST THINK HE IS JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF. Rumor has it he is supplied with so called "women" by the local thugs.. Time for him to move to New orleasn with jesse jackass and al dumbton..Both store front ministers/extortionists.

Gee, I live in Mt Greenwood Just off of 111th st by many of those bars. The only one that has a problem now and then is McDuffys and that is usually caused by non-area residents. For the most part they respect the neighborhood. Perhaps you should get a life and stop complaining about non-existent problems.

Hey, investigate this!!! I have to chime in on this one. Im so tired of the media, reverends and the community activists screaming about how the police are so bad. Let me tell you a little about me. It’s a bit long but worth the read. Worth the post as I see it.
I have been on this job for just a little over 15 years. One thing I can say for sure! To all the bad guys out there who want to sell drugs, beat their wife during a domestic, steal a car, molest a child, shoplift from a store, punch some poor kid in the face fore no reason other than to be a BIG MAN for the gang initiation...
The list goes on. If the police run after you on the street to catch you, chase you in the car to catch you or try to arrest you and hold you responsible for your actions, you just might want to fight. Fight the police?? How dare you! You are wrong. Wrong in the face of society and wrong in the face of the law.
You want to fight the police, Were going to fight back. Harder, Stronger and with more force than you can imagine. Because that is our job. That is our duty. That is our sworn oath! To protect and serve. You remind us every day we protect and serve, so let the police do the job to clean up the mess fatherless families have left. Let us clean the mess the Chicago public school has left us.
Stop playing the race card, and start holding your self for the failure of our youth.
You want safe communities for your children to play. Safe street for you wife or husband to walk down at ten o’clock at night without being robbed. Were not out to be the police abuse type, looking to mess with innocent kids, were fighting back against the evil that thrive in our community.
We go after the thugs when you run away. We go towards the gun shots when you run. We chase the car that stolen when you swerve out of the way while on the way home from shopping, church or picking up your kids.
Im so tired of people pointing at the police as if we are causing the problems. We the police have families. We go to school to further our education, work several part time jobs to provide for our family. We work weekends and holidays while your celebrating the weekend or holiday off with your family. We don’t drive around looking for people to pick on. We don’t have a bag of drugs or guns to plant on people. Our equipment, vehicles and supplies are checked by each other. I can say I have never experienced the shit the media and citizens claim we do.
What I can tell you is that if I can move out of the city, buy a house with three bedrooms and send my kids to better schools, I would, but Were not allowed to live out of the city. We have the means, IE: income and stability to do so, but are denied the right that you have to provide a better environment for our family.
I just want to go to work every day, do the right thing. I back up my fellow officers, answer calls for service and do your dirty work. The city wants me to also write parking violations, moving violations and contact cards. You the public have used the term QUOTA. But we have a fancy word called INDEX.
As far as I am concerned, most of it is violating your rights.
Pulling you over for nothing just to check out your car, stopping you on the street because your black, green, yellow, Chinese, Mexican or whatever hoping you might have something your not supposed to.. Many of us refuse to do so. We get yelled at. Accused of not pulling our weight. I don’t have time for that crap. I don’t have time for court, and most of all, I wouldn’t want my son or daughter to experience the bullshit. I answer my calls for service and conduct myself in a professional manner as do most of the officer I work with every day. I treat people like I would want myself, family or friends to be treated.
We are human beings with children, after school homework with the kids, part time jobs, medical bills and a high monthly list of expenses. We are working a thankless job but need to collect a paycheck. I regret quitting the job I had before I became a slave for the police department, but I need to provide for my family.
I can honestly say, most of the police officers do so with pride and integrity. Yes there are a few bad cops. The good officers feel shamed and embarrassed to have them among our ranks and look forward to having them rooted out.
I only wish that the media, citizens and Mr. Patrick Fitzgerald would spend more time getting rid of the corruption within our city government and holding the bad element of our society responsible for there actions. Let the police do there job. Have faith that most of the police department wants the same.
Chuck, investigate the department member that defrauded the contractor of $100,000.00 not including attorney fees!!!

I have always felt that Father Phleger is mentally unbalanced. Have you ever seen him up there on the altar, head bobbin' in his Afro getup? Something is wrong there.
As far as Pfleger being able to stay so long---the last time the Cardinal threatened to transfer Pfleger to another parish (after Pfleger shot his mouth off about something) Pfleger made a point to mention that Fr. Jack Wall has been at Old St. Pat's just as long. So, as long as Fr. Wall is at Old St. Pat's, Pfleger will be at St. Sabina.
Unless of course the Cardinal decides to grow some balls and transfer Pfleger anyway.
I suggest that he be thrown out of the Archdiocese altogether. Let him start some storefront "church" without any backing from the Catholic Church. It would be interesting to see how long he lasted or how low he would grovel to stay in "bidnez."
Fr. Wall is gone from Old St. Pat's. Left last month. What will be his excuse now?

Set up a surprise DUI checkpoint in Mt. Greenwood and I'll bet you'll have at least a half-dozen DUI arrests in one hour, if done between 11 pm and 4:30am. on a Friday or Sat. night.. No, we don't get a lot of people shot in Mt. Greenwood, just run overand killed by DUI drivers like the poor kid from Marist on 115 and St. Louis, ASSHAT...

You must not live in the neighborhood. There are radar (Lidar) cars from traffic always playing 111th st. I have seen wolfpacks from traffic in the area numerous times. Also they used to have a good guy on mids, now in traffic, who wrote a ton of DUIs. I'm sorry about the kid who was killed and people should not drive drunk but there is enforcement, If you are the Police pull up Iclear on the weekends for 022 and see the arrests. There are always some for DUI.
