James G. Carroll was Commander of Airports not north or south. Each Airport has a C/O they are either C/O of North (O'Hare) and C/O of South (Midway and when we had Meigs, Meigs) The C/O's are the rank of Lt.
So his Officially Title was Commander Airports Law Enforcement.
And I wish him well no matter what the changes may bring him. He always treated me with the upmost respect and I am neither Irish, in his click or personally worked for him.
James Carroll as well as his brothers are all real police officers and did what they needed to do to put the bad guy away.
If you had problems with him once he became exempt, well I think it was because he came from the old school of policing. And it sicken him to see such petty whinning and the petty bullshit some of these cops were pulling on each other instead of all sticking together.

I heard from a GOOD source at 35th that WYSINGER will be out in at least a 3rd round of dumps.

You may just get your wish. The rumor is that Cmdr. Doty from 006 may be the new Cmdr. of TRU. Additonally, 008 is hardly the busiest zone in the city, turn to zone 10 once in a while, but definitely a large district. Shame on that P.O. if he/she was really checking their email if you needed a computer for work, you should have had the balls to say something to them instead of bitching here. Don't be so angry, you'll give yourself a heart attack. And dont act like you wouldnt bring your parachute to jump on some paper if you were in a numbers driven unit. Why do guys who were made "Captain" just by applying and being clouted in (Captain SES)go back to their clouted "captain" position when they are dumped. Why not Lt? That is their REAL career service rank. Besides isnt there still a list of Lts waiting to be made "Captain"?
All of the "back to captain" conjecture is wrong. Captain is NOT a civil service rank. If they're dumped, they're back to Lt.
Carroll was offered the position of Director of Security for CTA. It pays over $185,00.00 a year plus perks. So between Commander's pension and CTA he will make just about the same as J-Fed. Roughly $300,000.00 a year. I wouldn't call that getting dumped, maybe dumped at the pot of gold at the end of the Irish Rainbow! Some guys just have a horseshoe jammed up their ass! Or have some bad secret information about somebody powerful!
We could always use more feds. If anyone is thinking about doing any search warrants I would think again. Unless an undercover officer saw the contraband in the residence I would not put my name under anything a CI stated. Just the way things are these days. Look for more paperwork and less comman sence.

The reason I left 008 for TRU was not because I couldn't handle "the busiest zone in the city" it was because I realized that mustaches [especially the handlebar variety] are gay

I recently heard from a good source that the Cook County S.A.'s office is doing a somewhat investigation into why every street stop narcotic arrest is a result of a "drop case." I guess what I'm trying to say is we (CPD) have no credability anymore. Our reputation is tarnished not only from the high profile incidents, but even from the every day unethical bullshit that goes on around this place in every district and in every unit. It took me forever to surround myself with other P.O.'s who were ethical after I came on the job 10 yrs ago. It's sometimes hard to find officers who are proactive and like police work, AND do police work honestly and ethically. All of you know what I mean. The bottom line, we are our own worst enemy. If people would pick up a law book or read a general order once in a while and know what is expected or required of us, we would not be a target. A McHenry County judge on Monday tossed out convictions against two former police officers jailed for beating a handcuffed Wisconsin man outside a Fox Lake tavern. A new trial was ordered for Jerome Volstad of Cary, a former police officer in Richmond and Lincolnshire, and for Ronald Pilati, a former Spring Grove officer.
The men were found guilty in November of aggravated battery, mob action and unlawful restraint for attacking Ryan Hallett of Wisconsin outside KC's Cabin.
Circuit Judge Joseph Condon said prosecutors failed to give defense attorneys relevant evidence that could have affected the trial's outcome. Hallett gave prosecutors a handwritten statement that described the beating but did not mention that Pilati or Volstad beat him. His statement was not released to defense attorneys, which Condon called an inadvertent error. Hallett wrote the statement as part of sentencing proceedings for Brian Quilici, a third former police officer convicted in the beating.

Elite? Elite? Are you kidding me, two year wonder? Let me give you the true meaning of Elite: a small group of people within a larger group who have more power, social standing, wealth, or talent than the rest of the group. You scumbags are not even close to being Elite.

I think it's a misconception the new supt., is getting rid of only Cline's people. To begin with, I don't think Weiss has anything to do with it--it's the Mayor. Daley is running the police dept, and that I find deeply worrisome.
I think it's time to put away your hate fellow police officers--or at the very least start directing it towards Mayor Daley, our new supt., and the myriad of political appointees who are our new command personnel. Off the topic: this weekend at 115th Bourdon Street, there are a couple of large benefits.
