Weekend Starts with a Bang
Maybe not the first one, but it falls in the weekend violence tracking numbers:
- A 35-year-old man is dead following a shooting Friday night in the West Side's Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Juan Torres was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 7:50 p.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman, who said Torres suffered multiple gunshot wounds at Campbell and Potomac avenues.
And a warm weekend on tap. Did everyone get their PAX 501 from J-Fed thanking us for overseeing the homicide rate rise by 12%? We guess the only thing to say is, "Gee, thanks Jody."

All I can say is write the report and protect the crime scene. Crime is going through the roof and we are understaffed. God willing there is not a terrorist attack or natural disaster(besides a hot day) in this town. Undermanned and undertrained I will take care of my family first screw this city. Kudos to B.D for a job well done...Qadri was the guy who sued the Evanston PD and caused to EPD officers their jobs as well as being indicted by DICK Devine. He will have to serve at least 6 years in DOC. Sayyid Qadri, AKA Diablo, was a LATIN KING from Columbia and Ashland. The Media would not label him to be a gang member even though he has a king's heads and the letters LK CA on his arm and the word DIABLO tatooed across his back. To those who don't know the Chicago Water Department generates the highest percentage of revenue for the City of Chicago,out of any city department. Chicago provides water to 125 surrounding municipalities. Chicago has the world's largest body of fresh water at it's doorstep,the Great Lakes and the world's largest water filtration plant,Jardine.

5 arrested for shooting near Chicago 'Public Enemies' set

CHICAGO - Life imitated art on a Chicago movie set when a police officer arrested suspected gang members involved in a drive-by shooting near the filming of Johnny Depp's mobster flick "Public Enemies."
Friday morning's shooting occurred about a block away from the set on the city's South Side. It happened about half an hour before Depp arrived on the set. No one was injured.
A police detective who blocked traffic while film crews worked nearby told WGN-TV that he arrested five juveniles and seized a handgun from their vehicle. One was later charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
"Public Enemies" stars Depp as infamous bank robber John Dillinger and co-stars Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis.

People believe when the topic of off-shore drilling is discussed the petroleum companies are just talking about drilling in ocean waters. Those jagoffs include the Great Lakes. Probably 75% of the world's fresh water supply is in the Great Lakes. An oil spill would be beyond catastrophic.

WASHINGTON -- Listening to political talk requires a third ear that hears what is not said. Today's near silence about crime probably is evidence of social improvement. For many reasons, including better policing and more incarceration, Americans feel, and are, safer. The New York Times has not recently repeated such amusing headlines as "Crime Keeps on Falling, But Prisons Keep on Filling" (1997), "Prison Population Growing Although Crime Rate Drops" (1998), "Number in Prison Grows Despite Crime Reduction" (2000) and "More Inmates, Despite Slight Drop in Crime" (2003).
If crime revives as an issue, it will be through liberal complaints about something that has reduced the salience of the issue -- the incarceration rate. And any revival will be awkward for Barack Obama. Liberalism likes victimization narratives and the related assumption that individuals are blank slates on which "society" writes. Hence liberals locate the cause of crime in flawed social conditions that liberalism supposedly can fix.
Last July, Obama said "more young black men languish in prison than attend colleges and universities." Actually, more than twice as many black men 18-24 are in college as there are in jail. Last September he said, "We have a system that locks away too many young, first-time, nonviolent offenders for the better part of their lives." But Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute, writing in the institute's City Journal, notes that from 1999 to 2004, violent offenders accounted for all of the increase in the prison population. Furthermore, Mac Donald cites data indicating that:
"In the overwhelming majority of cases, prison remains a lifetime achievement award for persistence in criminal offending. Absent recidivism or a violent crime, the criminal-justice system will do everything it can to keep you out of the state or federal slammer." ...

OMG!!! scary Mexicans on 47th and Ashland shopping at the Walgreens. beats 914 915 921 931 933 have called in the National Guard. there is only one Doc in the city 47th-51st Western-Halsted all citywide units deploy.
After further review, BD was in box 1. Schrek in box 2. I still don't know who BD is though and I was there.
