The Tribune must be desperate for news - they're announcing CPD retirements now:
- Another high-ranking Chicago police official is retiring from the department, among a half-dozen to leave since Supt. Jody Weis took office in February.
Frank Limon, chief of the organized crime section, which oversees both gang and narcotics divisions, said goodbye to colleagues Friday, though his last official day is Monday.
So the Weis-Peterson duo force another one out to pasture. What former federal agent or member of J-Fed's wedding party will be filling this spot?
Word is this is just the beginning of the Fall shakeup. We'll see.

off topic: im tired of all the b.s. on this job. i will have 24 and a day next may, i will be 52yrs old and my husband will still be on the job and he has 27yrs..i tried to get into the retired seminar,but it is always filled up.(what does that tell you). would it be worth it for me to retire, or should i stay and take more of this b.s...thanks

He was a sgt is the academy and had a female civilian write his master papers and dissertation. He made LT and has a commander in a few months. No street experience and used and abused people under him. Unless you were latino. So many officers helpd him look good yet he never rewarded them with anything. He was LAPA not CPD. I stayed until 60 so they would pay me hospitalization. I maxed out at 58 so it was worth it for two years. In your case take the money. I was retired 4 months before I realized I was not no vacation.

Lemon like most bosses did what they all have to do to get ahead. If you worked for him it wasn't that bad. If you pissed him off, he might let it go, so long as you didn't go over his head.

While it may play into the hands of the Midget, I would suggest that you depart as soon as possible, for several reasons...
1)A dollar today, because of inflation, is worth more than a dollar in the future. There is very little benefit to staying, unless you need your current level of income. Do a 10, 20 and 30 year projection, and you will see that getting out now will be a wash in terms of dollar cost averaging. In addition, you are vested in the plan, so get some now, before the possible destruction of the pension, based on the desire of the state assembly to change the state constitution.Remember, you only need to have 20 on and be 50 years old to leave with a healthy pension. Both you and Hubby should get out of dodge right now!! Put the coffee down and both of you, turn in your paperwork!
2)Depending on where you work, every day you stay on, is another day Pooky or Ray Ray can sue you and the city. Get out ASAP and use your existing pension to augment any future employment. I hope this was helpful.
Having said that, if you would like to change places, feel free to contact me. That cloud of dust you would see would be me heading for Ogle or Jo Davies County.

I know both Gorman and Wojcik. They aren't my friends or my boss but both are more than "nice guys". These guys are the real deal and didn't stop working and start ass-sucking to get promoted. Talk to anyone who has worked for or with them before rendering an opinion,Clown.

O.K. Meritorious Milt! By the way, I don't even work in your district. Everyone up the chain of command is asking what the hell is wrong that no one can get along with J.D. unless they were meritoriously promoted by him. If crime stats are improving in 021 it sure isn't because of him. Just look at what happened to 006, both in terms of crime and morale under his tenure.
I remember many years ago on mids. in 014th and Limon was a Field Lt. Went into a man/w/gun call and got 9 guns.

Capt EV can be your fucking commander. He was the asshole, who in attempt to look good in the eyes of J-Fed=fail and score some pussy , made his last command,buy gifts for the assholes they police. That went over great, and yes it was a requirement. He also sucked every perk away because in his eyes the perks got him demoted not his lazy eyed stuttering pussy crazed binges. This paired with his absolute belief that the CO spot at narcotics was his to have (another scam to get pussy) was his biggest downfall. Lets review: He has no balls, he will make you a party to his half cocked plans to get promoted and score pussy, he will embolden any female or greek to believe that they run the show because "Eli is my guy." Im sure you guys in ten would love to Santa Claus to the Douglass Blvd.

Wysinger has been an outstanding exempt, from Cmdr through Deputy Chief. Are there people out there better qualified? Maybe. But Al has not changed since joining the Goldstar ranks. Speaks to everyone in his command, always makes time for his people. Don't hate on him because he's moved up.
It has to happen for someone. There are far worse bosses out there, I assure you. Stick around for a while, and you'll see for yourself. If the hating is because he's not white, well, he can't help that. The pieces of the pie, however small, are dealt out to others who's last names don't begin with O'....so get over that too. I'm willing to bet the people who work with and for Al are more loyal to him than the ones who work for Weis and Peterson. When Weis packs it in next year (and he probably will after getting a full taste of this job this summer), I hope Wysinger is on the short list to replace him.

How hard is it for crime to drop in 021? between gentrification and the U of C police you have the lowest crime rate on the south side.
That idiot Dopy and his lame -o tact teams have no impact on what goes on over there. The sooner they close 021 the better. What a waste of police personnel and resources. Ship them to other districts and shut the useless fucking 021 district down. 003 can use the help-oh wait a minute 021 is NO help !

There are alot of police on this job who have clout but dont use it. Those kind of police usually hail from hard working parents who instilled such values that cannot be altered. Meaning they have a conscience, they work hard, and they maintain their integrity while this department continues to demoralize. They don't ask for favors, and they don't play the game. Because they possess quality traits, these kind of police don't fit in with what this department wants, and they rarely make exempt rank. Sorry to disagree with you, but no, not everyone would have done what Lemon or many of these undeseving exempt have done.

I partially agree, close 021 build a new 002 and combine them. As far as the people there you are wrong there are some great officers there. It is funny how pratically none of the shit in 002 crosses over Cottage into 021. It aint because of the neighborhood it's because of the police there.

I work in the facility, and there was FREE cake. It's not like I had to give a speech or anything, hell, I didn't even talk to Limon. Did I mention the FREE cake? When I got there the cake was partially cut, with pieces already handed out, and the top said, GOOD LUCK RANK, he's rank alright! And yeah, I know, I pimped myself for a piece of cake, but it was FREE. Did I mention that?
