Hi,
I just want to ask everyone to keep in mind the victims that live.

Some of these guys, originally from Chicago, have left the job and moved back for obvious reasons. They are left alone with no resources for help and their PTSD they suffer is harrowing.

Nightmares, guilt, alcohol abuse, flash backs, fixation on buildings are a daily occurance - and they are taking a spiritual, physical and mental toll.

Although he may have left New York City some time ago, New York hasn't left him.

I would give everything I have to get him the proper and needed help, but where does one go?

He stood there on the curb because those were his and his company's orders. This is a chain of command job - not for independent thinkers. He did all he could. He still thinks of the lady who he gave his helmut to cause of the debris was falling from the sky and it gave her a sense of comfort.

He wishes it was him that day. He really wishes it was him.

He has no wife nor children. He thinks that he is more expendable.
He's a walking zombie at times.

He doesn't talk big about it. In fact, there are some who are aquaintances or co workers of his and no nothing about his days in New York.

He has no conception of or expections to be here in the future.

The trauma and its stress that it causes will send him to an early grave.

And although I try so, so, so hard to be his friend and help him see how great of a guy he is, I fear it may not be enough.

So, when remembering those guys who were taken from us that Tuesday, would you please say a prayer for those still living and suffering.

God bless the USA

I hope you get him the help he so desperately needs. I do have a bit of a background in this, so if you want to contact me, put MOL somewhere in your note.

Two really good documentaries on 9/11, you can pull them up on youtube. One is "Inside 9/11" which is about 16 parts long. The other documents a rookie firefighter who ended up at 9/11, it's called "9/11 Documentary."
Get your tissues out, you'll need them

To the asshat that questioned how many of us actually remember the horrors of that day. You need a labotomy.

The only carbon based life forms that have forgotten or refused to acknowledge the horrors of the day are the academia who have spewed their socialist rhetoric to our children and the liberal democrats who believd that we brought 9/11 upon ourselves as a result of our policies around the world.

So if you are driving with one of your friends in the car, and you hear the wind whistling through their skull as you drive along, you know they're a liberal democrat that has no brains. Find a new friend.

Remember the old saying. Whatever stance a liberal takes on a certain position, take the opposite because they're ALWAYS WRONG, ALWAYS. GOD BLESS AMERICA and the ARMED FORCES.

Holy Forgot Already Batman!!!

Funny how the Democratic nominees running to control the most powerful country in the world don't want to talk about 911.

Maybe something today will be said? We'll see.

Obama does like to talk about lipstick and pigs. Usually you hear this type of language from a disparate male who ain't had any lately. For a married man and a community organizer for the Chicago Democratic machine, Obama will get that quiet response (NO VOTE) back regarding his remark from an organization called Our Lady of the Sisterhood.

Just think about how important women voters are to a candidate running for office. Now, think about why Obama didn't make Hillary his Vice Presidential Candidate, does his ego and low opinion of women have anything to do with decision making? And think about the pig and lip stick remark. Obama just created an image in the minds of all those women who were undecided or willing to give him a chance.
Obama's moronic retort will cost him the election. He did it to himself. He can't blame anyone else. Obama and his supporters will blame White America, they will say American isn't ready for a black president.

I say America will never vote liberal in these times of War, and economic stress. Basically, TAXPAYERS are tired of being called taxpayers. Americans in these times are ready to revolt. Obama's popularity was supported by many of these fed up taxpayers who want and desire change. Obama ain't changing anything except name tags and ID's at the White House. Why are rich old white guys like Warren Buffet giving him money for his campaign?

As I predicted, McCain will win this election because he put Palin on the ticket and Obama put some old white dude on his. What message is Obama really sending out to America? The message I get is the same old shit with another flavor, Neapolitan.

So the new world poll of over 20 nations with over 22,000 persons polled overwhelmingly want HUSSEIN OBAMA (the non-muslim, LOL) as our president.

Well if that doesn't tell you who to vote for, then you are not American.

Remember 9/11 people. HUSSEIN will kiss the rings of every terrorist leader in this fucked up world to preserve the peace. TO PRESERVE THE PEACE, YOU MUST PREPARE FOR WAR, not lick the asspipe of Rain Man Hugo Chavez, KGB Putin, the hostage crisis terrorist retard in Iran, and the Dunknin Donuts wokmaster Mr. Magoo in Korea.

Liberal or Conservative, Democrat or Republican, for god's sake, people, put a flag out on September 11! On my entire block on the NW side, only three flags were on display. One at my house, one at my neighbor's who is also a copper, and one at my other neighbor's who has a son in the military. I don't agree with all of the US policies since 9/11, but that flag does mean something to me, and it pisses me off to see more Mexican, Polish, and Irish flags in my neighborhood than American flags. If you love your native country so much more to fly their flag rather than the flag of the USA, then go the fuck back there and live. And to think these people might well be voting for our president. Lets hope the Appeals Court of Iowa gets it right all the way through!!! Kass reports "During an hourlong hearing Thursday, Appeals Court Judge Terry Huitink suggested it would have been "impossible" for Mette to reasonably flee his drunken attacker rather than defend himself, which was a key argument of the prosecution.

"It appears to me that the folks were in such close contact that it would have been impossible to escape," Huitink said. Inside the crowded courtroom, Mette's father, Bob, his wife, Pat, and the officers there to support the family were heartened by the exchange."

So, I wake up today, a LOT earlier then I normally do. It is probably because I went to sleep so early the night before. But, I wake up as I normally do, roll off the couch, go to the restroom and head off to the kitchen. Its a normal day for me so far, nothing to sway my normal, grumpy attitude towards the day. Then I turn on the radio and tune into the Drex Morning Show. That's when it hits me like a ton of bricks. Its September 11th. I know its just a day, a Tuesday and nothing makes this particular September 11th stand out from the last seven since the attacks. But I simply can't control the way I feel about it. 246 passengers on the four planes, 2603 in the WTC and on the ground in NYC, 125 at the Pentagon, 343 FDNY, 23 NYPD, 37 NY Port Authority Officers, 24 people still remain listed as dead and far too many Troops to count.

I am holding back the tears, hoping they go away. I don't know if its that I feel bad about not feeling this way in the past or what. Don't get me wrong, I do what every other American does, I get angry at Terrorists and feel upset for those who we've lost as a Nation. I stand and proclaim that we are the best Country in the World and nothing like this should ever happen again. But, when I get back to square one, I feel the pain of the loss of so many lives. So many families are empty and incomplete. Many have lost loved ones and there are still many who will not make it home from the fight. But they will continue to do so with integrity, pride and honor because that is what they do.

I don't know if its a culmination of working with the police that makes me feel this way, or that I know so many people who are fighting the good fight everyday. I have friends who are fighting oversees, who I fear I may never see again. I also have friends who fight it here at home, on the local front. Many of the people I share a uniform with are also gone, leaving their work here to fight there. The handful of Firefighters I know, who risk it all when that bell goes off. I know, I bust balls when it comes to the Firefighters, but they do what no one else does. Yeah sure, you hear about some PO who ran into a burning building because the fire department hadn't got there, but that's the instinct of a police officers. The help, to be there, to serve and protect. But those who sign up willingly to run into burning buildings .... you're either crazy, brave or a decent mix of both.

I know that at 9AM there will be a moment of silence across this Country. It will be a place where time simply stands still. It will be on the radios, televisions, and emergency services radios as well. I know, I will be one who remembers what we have lost and the sacrifice many have given. I miss people who I have never met before in my life, but they are dear to my heart. These are people that when I am 95 sitting in a rocking chair, I will tell my great grandchildren about. The men and women of September 11th, 2001.

I remember waking up 7yrs ago and getting dressed to go to Juvie Ct. My wife told me there was a plane crash into one of the Towers and I kept going. By the time I got down there, they were emptying Juvie thinking this might happen in Chicago. I remember how this country was so united then and what a divided country we are now. Especially on the CPD. Democrats vs Republican. Black vs Whites vs Hispanics etc. How soon all that good will has been wasted. We have mostly forgotten what happened on 11 Sep 01. You know it will happen again. It is only a matter of time. They will wait and watch and be patient. I took the TARA class 2yrs ago. I still do not have a simple gas mask. I watched Daley and J-Fraud with their shiny new toys earlier this week and I just kept thinking what smoke and mirrors being put upon the citizens of Chicago. Put aside your prejudices. Went to New York for the first time in my life 5 years ago. Went to ground zero and walked around. If you went near the New York Stock Exchange near Wall Street, and looked over, it was just a big empty space. Like everyone else, watching the coverage of the first building on fire and then seeing the second plane hit, was devastating. Then hearing two other planes had been hijacked and then within the next hour seeing the towers come done, it was too much. It wasn't until later video coverage of the event that the victims could be seen falling to the ground after jumping out of the windows. Its a horrific event that overshadows anything I can ever remember. And all the finger pointing that followed still doesnt dismiss the rotten fuckers that got away with this. There will never be a rational excuse for murdering innocent citizens.

To me, its like it happened yesterday. Thanks for the vent

As I predicted, McCain will win this election because he put Palin on the ticket and Obama put some old white dude on his. What message is Obama really sending out to America? The message I get is the same old shit with another flavor, Neapolitan.

As a female voter I feel Palin has nothing to be desired. She sounds like Cheney's parrot.

Get your flag up outside of your home before 0800 today. No excuses.
***********************************
Today, I hung my flag as I do on Flag Day and all the other appropriate days and then I took the dog for a long walk and after 2miles, I only counted 2 flags and one of them was mine! What happened to all that patriotism following Sept 11th ? Where are all the American Flags today? I'll bet that on Saturday, there will be plenty of Mexican Flags celebrating Mexican Independence Day! Why do all these people feel such love for a country that they no longer reside in and left to make a better life for themselves yet they don't display the American Flag with that same pride. Don't get me wrong, I'm pure Polish through and through, yet my parents, always, even on Polish Constitution Day, displayed both flags. One as a reminder of where they, we came from and the the one that reminds us what freedom really is and the opportunities that were given to us by this great country. I'm definitely proud of my heritage but I'm much more proud to be an American !

I'll never forget the horrors, nor should anyone else. The media wants us to forget, when's the last time you saw pics on the tv of the towers? the Pentagon?

We should all still smell the smoke of the towers, the stench should burn our nostrils til the day we die.

My prayers are for this whole country, we all need it.

A couple of points to ponder on this most solemn of days:

1. Had to go to page 26 of the Sun Times before any mention. I guess it’s to be expected from the paper that gives us Mitchell and Ebert.

2. Both of our US Senators seem to be more concerned with the constitutional rights of Islamic Terrorist suspects then they do about keeping us safe.

3. Obama was at ground zero today. Wonder if Michelle felt proud to be in the presence of firemen and policemen who were there that day? Probably not – not sufficient minority representation I guess.

4. Got to give credit where credit is due. At least Mayor Shortshanks admitted we need to fight the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. Couldn’t believe my ears but he said it. Still an asshole though.

God Bless all the people who perished that dreadful day. Let us who are left behind never forget them. For the sake of our country and our way of life do not, I repeat do not, allow anyone close to you to vote for Obama. If this country of guilt ridden fools manage to elect this piece of dung our President just take some time and gaze at the Sears Tower, The Hancock Building, The AON Building, Trump Tower and on and on because it will just a matter of time before they strike us here. Let’s concern ourselves with us not those who want to destroy us.

God Bless each and every one of you fine young men and women who protect us on a daily basis.

On this 7th Anniversary....... I still cry..... Like most of us do. I am a native New Yorker, I lost family and friends on that horrible day.........

I would like to thank the 10 team mates that put together a team from Housing West, a day after 9/11 and drove feverishly through that morning and night to reach Ground Zero. I want to thank them for their heroism, their sacrifice and their service to the people of NYC, to their brother and sisters in blue, both NYPD and FDNY and the citizens of New York.

The time we spent there and what seemed to be so little in the face of an amazing catastrophe but was a drop in the bucket, was still an amazing help, every hand helped in those early days of the attacks. But WE the CPD were there, 2 days later, digging in, doing buckets, scavengering around to help in whatever way we could. I KNOW it was appreciated. I know the 10 men i went with are heroes. My friends on NYPD and FDNY still ask me about the guys from Housing West. And tell me to thank them. So to the 10 i had the pleasure and honor to work side by side on "the pile", I thank you, and the NYPD and FDNY thank you, and the people of NYC thank you for being that drop in the bucket that made that time just a bit more easy.

Those times are a time i wish i could forget, but again, times i was so proud to wear the uniform of a Chicago Police Officer.

A quote from an email i got today from one of my brothers in blue in NYPD.................

Ar,

Please tell your partners and your CPD brothers and sisters we still think of them and are grateful to them for their service here, your quick response to help out a fellow cop. It meant the world to me. CPD is always welcome in NYC. And the drinks are on us.

God Bless and much love,

---------------------------------

Being a New YAWKER as some say, has come with a curse for many years, our accents, our attitude, as perceived by the rest of the world. But that day and the months to follow showed America and the world, what we are made of. Togetherness, strength in the face of unbelievable adversity, and incredible strength.

Much thanks to the guys that i traveled with to Ground Zero, you guys are the best. My mom and dad still talk about our caravan driving up to their house, and how amazing you all were. Hugss and many thanks to you all.

Stay safe out there.

This is suppose to be a tribute to the people who lost their lives on September 11th but some miserable hate their jobs coppers have to ruin it. I agree if you do not like this job quit, you do not like this country fucking move out. For what it worth boys and girls this country although tragically flawed, is still the greatest country in the world by far.
It was made great by hardworking people, not by whiny bitches.

The only news program I saw today that showed the World Trade center burning after we were attacked was BBC world news on channel 20. I don't have cable but I watched the A.M. afternoon and evening news. Alot of coverage but no footage of the planes hitting?? WHY? WTF??
We have become a country of pussies. How is it even possible that this mush is so close to the White House?? A crooked Daley machine politician, socialist to the extreme.
What happened to the silent majority?? We stopped the immigration reform that they tried to shove down our throats but now what??
George Bush did his job. We have not been attacked again have we?? The amount of bashing this guy has taken is unforgivable.
He was not my choice I was a Dole guy, but who could have imagined Sep. 11?
Yes he spent like a democrat, but he kept our country safe
GOD BLESS THOSE WHO DIED THAT DAY AND THOSE WHO ARE STILL SUFFERING.

because McCain used the same lipstick on pig expression to describe Hillary Clinton's policies and there was no notice? He's actually used it several times with no notice- wonder what the Sisterhood thinks of that?

9/11/2008 07:48:00 PM

****************
It's all in the delivery, somehow, when Osama Bin Biden says it, it sounds like an arrogant woman hater and that he is actually calling Palin a PIG..
When McCain says it, it is obvious he is talking about a policy, not a person.

Also, McCain picks a woman for VP, showing he isn't a hater of women, but Osama Bin Biden scoffs at running with the female of his own party who got 18 million votes in the election, plays all kinds of games with her, then names Biden as his running mate. I guess it is better to name someone who got maybe 1,000 votes and ignore the one who got 18 million, if one is that egotistical, narcissistic and arrogant!

Today, at "Ground Zero" Obama simply tossed the flower while McCain, who has difficuly bending and moving, bent over and placed the flower at the memorial, as did his wife, Cindy. Michelle was noticeably absent and supposedly at home with their two daughters. Well, I would think that since she was gone so much while on the campaign trail, she could have taken this day to honor all of the men and women who paid for freedom with their lives as a result of this horrific attack. Once again, just an example of the Obama's patriotism! Obama also made a statement during his interview with George Stephanapolis today, quote" "MY MUSLIM FAITH" which George quickly corrected and said you mean your "CHRISTIAN FAITH" Slip or the tongue or more then that? The video is posted on You Tube. I know that I can't vote for this man and even thought the Republicans have screwed up the economy, at least I can look at John MCain and not question his patriotism and allegiance to his country anf flag!

It wasn't until 9/11 that I truly understood and respected what police officers and firefighters go through. Those police officers and firefighters in NYC knew they were dealing with some unimaginable, horrible shit-- but they went about their jobs as they've always done-- bravely, proudly and honorably.

May those police officers and firefighters who didn't make it home that day, rest in peace.

May the officers on this site stay safe, and come home to your families and loved ones each and every day. You may not always feel appreciated by all-- but most of us truly do appreciate each and every one of you for keeping us safe so we can be around for our families and loved ones. God Bless...

It sickens me.

I agree. I have been saying that for a long time. The only national flag flying should be the Stars & Stripes;Old Glory;that Ol'Star Spangled Banner; The National Ensign of the United States!!!!

People should stop worrying too much if Palin (a Governor) has enough experience to take over the presidency and start worrying if their candidate for PRESIDENT (Obama) has enough experience. This moron nominates a a VP who doesn't even believe in himself and who has said that he doesn't believe Obama is the right person for president (as did his newest supporter Bill Clinton).
