Speaking of political correctness, is there any reason why the media is not reporting about the Street and Sanitation worker locked up for attempted sexual assault that occured downtown. I heard on the news that , Of course there is a district recidency requirement in order to attend New Trier, but it can be waved if the Student can come up with the 17,000 Dollar per year tuition. That's a lot of Crack.
How much is it going to cost the CPS in lost funding and then in manhours to reregister these "students" after all this shit is over?
UPDATE: We've just been informed by Newsradio 780 that the buses will leave the "house of dope" at 1000 AM. Figure around an hour travel time - The Trevians will have been in class for at least three hours by the time the circus arrives.
Pretty typical, they are use to showing up to school about 3 hrs late. So for them it is perfect timing.
All of the busses are currently pulled over before the first toll booth. I guess these poor inner city are so broke they don't have enough money to pay the 1st toll.
I did a recon in Northfield yesterday, there is a gas station by Sunset Ridge school, but there isn't much in the way of grape or red pop in the cooler. They do have an adequate supply of flaming hot pork rinds though.
Nothing in the way of stores over by New Trier though, they may have to stop at the Convenient Food Mart first.

If New Trier was smart, they would call it a 1/2 day of school today and be all closed up and gone by the time these busses make it there.
Funny that the House of Dope Church doesn't have their own private school connected to the church. Rev. Meeks knows that finding any students in that area that would actual pay tutition would be impossible.

Why did they not invite the kids from Garfield Ridge? Are they racist? They wouldn't be singling out a race now would they ? nim on the fense on all of this, i understand the frustration of some of these parents and students about the conditions of their schools compared to the suburbs, theres a huge gap of inequality between the two on many levels. But also its up to the student and parents to do the best they can to ensure they are going to school and actually giving a fuck about graduating, and going to college....when i was in high school 98% of the students went on to college, now i didnt go to a cps school, but a southside catholic one. the mentality there and in my household was always to go to college. But when your at a CPS school where there are probably 30 students in the class, and you have 10 assholes, 10 good students and the other 10 get distracted by the assholes and feed into their negativeity...that makes for a chaotic enviroment.

News Update: The driver of the lead bus choked on a Flamin' Red Hot and purple pop. He hit the median at the curve by Old Orchard and burst into flames followed by nine other buses and one Mercedes limo. No survivors.
Did I hear right, only 50-60 students showed! Way to go Meeks. So much for your followers. Registration opened at 11 and the buses didn't leave until 10:50. Going to be a little late, but did we expect anything else. Gimme, gimme, gimme is getting a little old. Work for a living, pay taxes and maybe then you can go to school where you want.

A lunch period call from my selctive enrollment high school student reports:
Clean tables - no leftover messes
Pleasant lunch room staff- no yelling
It may seem inconsequential- but it is nice to have a quiet lunch in a clean place to chat with friends/catch up on homework---maybe even actually eat
Instead of:
Listening to lunch room ladies argue over whether someone has a free/reduced lunch, only to find few things available (paying full price but not receiving full lunch)
Cleaning the messes of others- who "play with their food" and can't find a trash bin before leaving
Experiencing lunchroom theater- a rambunctious romp through diverse cultures, accentuated by bursts of security bravado- followed by calm and then chaos (again)

It seems ET and TW of 019 both sustained injuries in the lockup of 019. On the night in question, ET and TW were racing to stop an off duty PO. Upset that the other was attempting to steal the other's glory, they arrested eachother for driving 30mph+ over the posted limit. After processing eachother they were placed into the same cell. The physical scuffle broke out when bad news was broken to them. They were told that neither could prosecute the Off Duty Police Officer, because they are too busy screwing eachother. Both looked at eachother and said: "I thought the cameras facing inside the car weren't working yet... How did they know?"
So when is Meeks going to demand equal housing. If rich people live in expensive houses so should the poor. What about equal jobs? If rich people are making well over 100K, so should the poor!!!

CLTV reported about two thousand people arrived in the 'burbs. Problem is, most of those on the buses were ADULTS. Looked like the ratio was four adults to one kid.
All those orange shirts? Those were adult 'chaperones'. They were NOT the truant CPS students.
DOZENS of buses were left parked at Meeks' parking lot. Apparently, a lot of parents actually decided their kids should be in school learning something today. A shame all the students who attended school will be dragged down by having to repeat all of today's information when the rest of the group finally shows up for classes in the next few days.

I was very impressed with the way these hooky playing kids and parents were greeted at this lovely campus. The people in the burbs were gracious and kind. Perhaps this was a good lesson for these CPS kids and their parents on how to behave in a civilized society.

This was a total waste of time. They had 65 buses ready to go from the house of mopes. When he gave his press conference he couldnt give a good answer he would pussy foot with his answers. There werent too many children. Just a bunch of parents. When it got time to leave the first 17 buses were loaded and the last 3 or 4 had one person sitting per seat to make it look like a full bus. Even if all 22 buses left full that would only be 528 people. Each bus had about 24 bench seats. A far cry from what he expected. Meeks your an idiot. You cant speak for shit. Why were there 45 more buses sitting empty in the south lot after you left. I know because not alot of people fell for your nonsense. Where was Jesse or Al. No where there. Good luck on your little protests tomorrow in the Loop. Keep them kids out of school some more idiot.

having worked in 21 several times, in order to hold a slip you have to trust the person won't go out and do something stupid, unfortunaltly there is so much ignorance, indignance and laziness I wouldn't trust some of them to hold my snot rag.

I was confused today. My kids are at Wildwood school but I was supposed to drive to 114th St. to catch a bus to go to Northfield.
I felt discriminated against, it seems like they only wanted the black kids to go.
I was gonna pack up the SUV and drive them there myself.

To go along with the school funding "reform", I think all teachers in Illinois should be state employees. They bid for schools by seniority.
All school districts will be dissolved, and a state wide district, with 101 regions would be established.

My kids who attend a magnet school did not have homewwork tonight. When asked why, the 8th grader told me it was because they couldn't let the "Meeksies" get too far behind or they'd have to repeat everything anyway. Now I know why she's in a "gifted" class.
Has the media explored this angle -- that "Meeks' Folly" has a an impact on ALL public school kids, not just hes boycottees -- or does it take a 13 year-old to "do the math" for the adults?

I call bullshit my liberal bleeding heart friend. At first Meeks asked that Chicago schools get more money, then when he was refused, he asked for $120,000,000.00 for "selected schools". Why don't you ask your buddy Rev. Meeks what selected schools he was talking about because I know for a fact they are ALL BLACK INNER CITY SCHOOLS.
The State of Illinois does partially fund the schools. From the lottery and gambling ship money. They replaced the money they use to fund the schools with these moneys. So it was a shell game. The rest of the money comes from property taxes from the county the school is in. The county is broken down into school taxing bodies, so each county has different taxing bodies. So it is the money from hard working people in that area that are actually supporting the schools.
Maybe if the inner city wasn't sitting on their asses in free homes, free welfare and free LINK, their tax body would have more money from their taxing area.
The way I see it, most of the inner city people are lucky to have schools. When you have child after child without no means of support, well anything you get is a gift. Nowhere in this country does it says that the government has the right to just keep taking working people's money to fund the people who are so irresponsible.
A typical welfare mother and two children will receive over one million dollars in benefits during their life span. From housing, food, medical, utility assistance and so on and so on. A million dollars for pumping out kids and sitting on your ass is a blessing.

Then this begs the question...instead of some grandstanding impractical exercise in futility such as Meeks and his militia conducted, knowing full well his "students" don't meet residency requirements, and even if accepted could not practically attend these schools, why did they not instead actually enroll all of them for free into this certainly high quality bastion of education at his church? They could have done so with no cost to all the students and actually provided a better education.

I have worked the ghetto my entire career and have observed the schools in these neighborhoods. Believe me, they are not lacking anything! They have the best of everything from books to computers. There are also many excellent teachers in these schools. No matter how much money you throw at the schools the values of the parents will not change. These con-men who organized this boycott should be ashamed of themselves for using the children as pawns in their game.

Hey douche i grew up in the south side and i went to get an education not to be a fucking gangmember. Thats what the majority of these "honor roll" students don't do. The only education they are there for is to get their PHD (pimping hos degree). Yes it is sad but until these sad excuse of parents do something to change their childrens way nothing is going to change. Now that's change i can beleive in.
