No Murders for 35 Days
Here? You're joking, right? No, this would be Miami:
Midnight Friday marked the end of October and the news from Miami's homicide office was what didn't happen.
No one was murdered.
October passed without a homicide -- meaning for the first time since May 1966, an entire month went by in the city of Miami without someone succumbing violently.
Over forty-two years since they had a month with no killings. And way back in the 1980's, they were a hotbed of violent death. Remember how much trouble Tubbs and Crockett had cleaning up that town?
But what amazing difference is there in Miami that isn't in Chicago that might dissuade street assassinations? What magical cure have our Floridian citizens discovered that provides an almost magical protection to it's people?
Oh yeah...Concealed Carry. The streets aren't awash with blood; the "wild west" shootouts are nonexistent; people walk the streets with impunity conducting their daily business without a care in the world because they aren't relying on the government to take care of them. How shocking.

It might also have a wee bit to do with having a real Police Chief.
Daley should have hired this guy or any other number of NYPD veterans. They demand results of their officers AND give them the tools and authority to get the job done. You know little things like radios that work.
Daley was right to bring in an outsider. He just needed to bring in a professional instead of "Unfrozen Caveman Superintendent"
If we just let the shit heads kill (gangbangers in layman's terms) each other for a couple of more years, we will go 35 days without a homicide. I love doing paper on a shit head homicide. Another problem solved.
It is SO fucking ironic that you posted this. Just an hour and a half ago, I was riding my motorcycle & got chased by some *choice citizens* honking their horn & screaming at me...I had to hit 70+ on a side street blowing stop signs because I didn't know WHAT they wanted.
And I thought to come to SCC because I'm STILL REELING behind the fact that I'm a, um, Chitty employee who's NEVER been on the wrong side of the law & I have to walk around defenseless to this shit. MEANwhile, King Richard runs around with his staff of sworn bodyguards who get D2 pay to protect his leprechaun ass.
When's he going to pull a Jane Byrne & see what his law-abiding citizens have to deal with on a daily basis partly due to his on-going gun-control agenda???

It was a murderer mass exodus to Chicago 35 days ago! Blaaaaaaaahahahahahahacahamhahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Now with several of the other cities and towns dropping their pistol bans and c.c. permit bans Chicago is the only place to be if you are a criminal. I once did security for a speaker of the houses mother but in Chicago I am not allowed to defend myself from these rampant "shitheads" in my city. C.P.D. officers are great and trying very hard but It would be nice if citizens could play a role in our own preservation.

An armed society is a polite society. I see nothing wrong with concealed carry..in fact, I should send in the $$ to get my PA carry license. Reciprocity allows you to carry in a bunch of other states too, and it's only $25.
