Pay to Play Gets Deeper
She hasn’t shown up for work very regularly over the last year or so, so when Michelle Obama’s $300,000 job was cut at the University of Chicago Hospitals, it may have been hard to notice the difference. Crain’s skipped the part about the incoming First Lady, must have been an oversight in their expert analysis of Chicago Business, because we know Crain’s is “Not show business. All business”.
The Tribune announced the layoff without much analysis, but let the cat far enough out of the bag to prompt our Don Rose to question how important Michelle Obama’s job must have been, as it was so easily eliminated. The New Republic gnashes their dentures at the how a community can be served without Michelle Obama, despite the void of actual labor she has performed while being on the campaign trail. The comments are much more informative than the article in TNR.
And hey, another brilliant move by the Transition Team nominating a Treasury Secretary who "forgot" to make tax payments. It's almost like there's some "culture of corruption" running rampant.

does it surprise anyone, really?....I mean, the Illinois Dems (Chicago, Cook County, Blago, etc.) have been playing the game/wheeling and dealing/stealing for years and years; local media/critics are non-existent, the national media are in love with Obama and the liberal pols, so they won't criticize or investigate "their own"....the beat goes on, and the sheep voters don't even notice...
Can someone please explain to me how the city gets away with not giving us overtime this period until our days off in the districts that have 9/10 hour days now. I worked more hours than I work in a regular week and got no OT for it. At first I was told I was putting a slip in for an extra hour a day OT and then suddenly the day before the new period, the city says that the time will all work itself out at the end of the year???? Show me how this is possible.

As I understand it, the work week hasn't changed. It's still Sunday thru Sat. Yes, you work 5 days a week with this new schedule (at least 3 out of six weeks )but not all in the same week. SO you put in 4 days in one week and that last day, the 5th day, is the beginning of the new work week. Sorry, no cause for O.T.
And don't forget that Susan Sher, Michelle's "boss" is now going to Washington to serve in a cabinet position.

The work day and work week in that district is now different than before, hence the change before going on overtime. You now have MORE days off than before, is that not so?
It is the same amount of hours per year, roughly 2080.

Well, that Administrative Manager, A. C-H. that works (I use the termn loosely) at the Academy has probably shown up for work less days than Michelle Obama.
Perhaps some crack media person or some crack IAD investigator or some crack Inspector General investigator wants to look into what time she shows up, what time she leaves and the number of days she is actually at work.
I bet less than 20 hours a week, yet she will tell you she has approval to work from home!
Maybe our "crack" media could look into the role between Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett and Richard M. Daley.

Meth rots teeth, not heroin. Teeth rot because of poor care, meth causes chemical changes in the mouth and really hastens the gum disease/decay process.
I saw a cable show on Learning Channel, a dentist in Tennessee who works for the state a couple of days a month. He does nothing but drive to prisons and yank teeth. All day, yanks teeth of meth addicts.
Heroin junkies usually have screwed up GI tracts due to constant constipation. Ever heard "tighter than a junky's asshole?" Opiates bind you up better than peanuts.

Read the Department Notice describing the new alternate work schedules. Overtime is paid after the hours of a regularly scheduled work DAY, not work WEEK. 8.5 hour day plus half hour lunch, OT begins after 9 hours etc. 10 hour day is similar.
How come people are smart enough to get on this job and then so many get dumb as time goes by? Why is that?
