No Mo Monique
Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond will be leaving the department to work for Chicago Public Schools, having been tapped by newly appointed schools CEO Ron Huberman to work in his administration in a top advisory role.
Bond confirmed the move by telephone today. She has been spokeswoman for the police department for the past four years, and served as Huberman's spokesman when he was the director of the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
Now let's see who Shortshanks tells J-Fed to appoint. This should be amusing. For $126,588 per year there ought to be a line out the door.

Good,glad she's gone. I have absolutely no experience in media affairs but she didn't either. The Sup. didn't have any experience running a police department. Huberman doesn't have any experience running a school system so how bad could I be at Mo's old job. My pension post for the week
Wisconsin is lowering the pension payments to retired state workers by 2.5 to 3% for the month of february. The pension funds are under extreme pressure.

Thank God for Monique Bond and Ronnie Huberman...because if it wasn't for them The Crime Boss (Mayor) would not have anyone to work in these high positions. It just amazes me that with over 3 million people in Chicago Da Mayor turns to the same people all the time!! WTF!!!!!

OT:...J-Fed could you please get rid of Lt. K from 023 formerly on days now on midnights and maybe put him back inside counting beans or something. I was wondering when she was going to get tired of trying to put a positive spin coming out of the Supt.'s mouth. Can't blame her at all for staying away from that awful press conference last Sunday with Jackson and Dugan. It was pitiful, and full of lies which were revealed as such the following day. You can get tired of painting the same old nag of a horse a different color all the time. This is the first of many defections to come from Team Fed.

I also heard this from a good 35th street source. supposedly this was a closed door meeting at city hall with kozaritz...who of course has huge juice through various alderman and is fairly tight with the mayor. he is a nice guy and was a good boss....but a spokesman requires speaking well....which unfortunatly jack does not do so well at. jack likes to mumble and gets redfaced and mad very easily. good guy, but maybe not the best pick to speak. however, he wont take any crap from the media...that is a given

To 09:04PM. CFD is running people thru the academy on a regular basis. A class of 80 just hit the streets Jan. 14th. There is another class in right now. Academy training runs about 6 mos. Don't know where they are on the list, but I would imagine it is at #500 or higher.

this is a great possibility and rightfully so. Ron is an intelligent individual and merits these promotions-granted, he does know all the right people and i guess that is what angers most of you haters----but if you think about all the people that were promoted simply because of the people they know and did not merit this promotions. i wish all you haters would just come to terms with the fact that ron may soon be your boss.
Kozaritz is a fat goof and one of Clines closest friends.
He tried to dump John Farrell from Area 4 violent crimes and Mike Hoke and Tony Ivanjack told him he would rather he retire and he did.
What ever happened to Max Walchuk the spokesman for the Fire det. I think "Max the Hat" would be a great asset to the Police Dept.
Sgt Laura West would be a good choice to take Monique's place.
She worked down there as a PO and is very well spoken. (Unlike Monique.)
She'd probably turn it down though. She seems happy where she's at.

Is there any reason why the states attorneys office will not approve the double homicide charges from the 1st District besides the fact that the offender is an attorney? There seems to be an abundance of evidence against this guy.

I am in full agreement. In the early 90's Jack worked for me at the old COS at 11/state.
Over weight and smoked like a chimney at his desk. He lacked communication skills and had difficulty expressing himself(reason for the anger).
He kept a book with names and numbers, saying he may have to use these someday. As very friendly guy, he had friends everywhere.
A real drinking buddy.
He would often say, "you know what I mean", "do me a favor", He also found it difficult to use complete sentences and had others write reports for him.
Good thing he had clout.

At least BOND had experience with the Airport PR staff. Do we really want back a stiff like the orange one? I can read a narrative better than he can. In fact I have in court! There could be an up side to this. Huberman can use his CTA experience to install turnstiles in the school entrances and make education a direct pay-as-you-go proposition.
If they can afford bling-bling and $200 moon shoes and bubble-gum-pink baby cell phones with cartoon characters on them (and the associated 40,000 minutes of kiddy babble a week), they can afford school itself.
Anyone who wanted to freely donate to "education" could do so; otherwise, elderly people with grown children who've already paid, or people who do not have children at all, should not be taxed for this purpose.
Don't pay them to sit and be quiet and learn. The chances of their doing that are much better if THEY'RE the ones paying for the experience.

Retired Jack hasn't smoked in years and lost weight. Good for him. His wife is his political clout and has carried him through his entire do nothing career. The joke back then was if he made commander so could anybody. Obviously that has held true. He went with the county to their version of oemc and he got launched - fired!! What has he done for ANY of the departments that he has been in charge of? I mean, really? What legacy has he left behind? He's done nothing outstanding. He doesn't know shit about being the police and never will. He didn't know shit about OEC, he didn't know shit about CTA and he doesn't know shit about Education. Intelligent, sure. That's great, but that doesn't mean anything without experience.
Ron and Skeletor reunited, it's only a matter of time before Barbara McDonald and Karen Rowen are added to the team. Can't break up that old gang of spineless "yes Persons", but you gotto admire them, they stick together and make sure that they are all making lots of money.

The media in this town is not what they used to be. The days of the tough Mike Royko types who called a spade a spade ended years ago... reporters these days are more worried about not ruffling feathers at city hall !
The tan man has left the building. Remember his comments as he was exiting HQ. What about any of News Affairs personnel for the job? Sorry, someone with no experience and clout connected will be the most qualified for Director or Co-Director....
