So who's to blame?
Two weeks after his younger brother was slain in a triple homicide, police and school officials said today a South Side teen was fatally shot in the back after a quarrel at a party late Friday.
Carnell Pitts, 18, died after the shooting outside a home in the 3200 block of East 92nd Street about 11:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago, police said.
A Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman confirmed Pitts was the brother of Kendrick Pitts, a 17-year-old shot to death with two friends at 87th Street and South Exchange Avenue on Feb. 20 in the South Chicago neighborhood.
And if you peruse the comments both at the Sun Times and the Trib's Breaking News sites, more than a few people are blaming the police for this. It's difficult to tell which ones might be sarcastic and which are serious.

Maybe Chalkie had an error in his paperwork...nahhh...Chalkie is 'dead-on" accurate.
Carnell Pitts was listed in the Area 2 DOC Bulletin as a "Person Of Interest" for potential retaliation resulting from the triple homicide that killed his brother.
There is another Pitts brother and he is a jerk off as well. Hes gonna be on a rampage now

Set up some more cameras in his neighborhood. That will solve everything.
The community and the parents are to blame and no one else. I think the Slum Times comments were people being sarcastic, I didn't take it that they were really blaming the police.
Let the cameras fix everything. Don't blame the police! More cameras! Right Daley???

We all know who's to blame. And thanks SCC for not painting a larger community with a broad brush stroke as your friend "shaved", continues to do. My children attend church, great schools, have both parents at home, and NEVER call an adult by their first name.

Blame "King shortshanks". He does not want to hire more police officers. All he cares about is silly cameras.
This is tragic. I simply can't understand why dope dealing, gun toting, convicted felons keep falling as victims. Oh, I know your right, they are not all CONVICTED, that my friend is not your fault and mine. It is the fault of the idiot states' attorneys and the hack judges that reside over this fine county. Can somebody please tell me where we get some of these ASAs? Sorry, my lil' suburban tart that decided to buck the system and be a BIG, BAD, prosecutor instead of what you really should have been, but you only have a job because my fellow officers and I exist. You need us, not the other way around. We put bad people where they belong in a holding cell. You and the jack ass judges that you represent set them free to prey on the public again. Wow, I guess I was wrong. If you didn't keep letting these Assholes go, I wouldn't have a job. The streets would have already been purged from the scum. My bad, thank you Mr. and Mrs. ASA. I do need you.
